For countries with late capitalism, the search for economic development has been a constant quest. Brazil is part of this group, which throughout the 20th century experienced some program implementations. In fact, the country opted, at times, for a developmentalist strategy, which, in this dissertation is the object of study whose objective is to outline the fundamental points that define and structure the Brazilian developmentalist models. The main thread of this research is to study the conditioning factors that built the country's economic and social development based on the implementation of developmentalist projects, such as the Plano de Metas and the Programa de Acelera??o do Crescimento. To this end, the research procedure uses the quanti-qualitative method with a mixed exploratory approach, which allows for a comparative analysis in the respective historical times selected. At the end, there are some important comparisons about the conditioning factors and the results of the respective projects.
