Resumo: Grafts may be needed in the maxillary bones to repair volume loss and bone morphology, whether caused by edentulism, pathologies, traumas or birth defects. The grafts have been classified as autogenous, heterogenous, xenogeneic and alloplastic. The autogenous bone, so far, is the only one that presents all the characteristics ideas: osteoinduction, osteoconduction and osteogenesis. This work aims to report a proposed technique using the association of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) associated with Bio-Oss for alveolar preservation and use as a graft in the maxillofacial region. It is presented in the form of two scientific articles, one of them reporting a case of alveolar preservation using the association described and another article describing a series of cases where bone grafting was used and the radiographic evaluation was performed comparing the density between the use of Bio - Oss and the association of Bio-Oss with rhGH. It was concluded that rhGH can be used locally, associated with Bio-Oss, favoring a good bone formation. Panoramic radiography proved to be an unsatisfactory method for evaluating bone density in these situations. No adverse effects were observed in patients operated on using this technique.

O osso aut?geno, at? o momento, ? o ?nico que apresenta todas as caracter?sticas ideias: osteoindu??o, osteocondu??o e osteog?nese. Submitted by PPG Odontologia (odontologia-pg@pucrs.br) on 2019-04-11T11:28:14Z No. of bitstreams: 1 MATEUS_GIACOMIN_DIS.pdf: 820734 bytes, checksum: 161d06e989b1811f698df16edab98d02 (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Sheila Dias (sheila.dias@pucrs.br) on 2019-05-02T18:26:17Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 1 MATEUS_GIACOMIN_DIS.pdf: 820734 bytes, checksum: 161d06e989b1811f698df16edab98d02 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2019-05-02T18:33:03Z (GMT).
