Resumo: | It is alarming the speed with which the elderly population has been growing in recent years. Faced with this undeniable phenomenon, urban space has an increasing concentration of elderly. In this context, problems are intensifying and socio-spatial inequalities reduce the possibilities of achieving the right to adequate housing. Attentive to this question, the World Health Organization has launched in 2007 the "Global Age-friendly Cities: A Guide", which advocates actions based on eight main axes, in favor of accessible and coherent urban planning for the aging of the population. Thus, this research aimed to analyze the habitability conditions and the functional capacity of the residents of two exclusive condominiums for the elderly: Vila Dignidade and Recanto Feliz, both implemented through public policies for low income elderly people in the city of Araraquara-SP. This is a transversal, descriptive research based on the assumptions of the quanti-qualitative method, with exploratory fieldwork, through visits to housing estates, with the application of the following instruments: the Vancouver Protocol, same resource used in the development of the Global Guide Age-Friendly Cities and the BOMFAQ questionnaire to check participants' levels of independence. The quantitative data were analyzed by means of simple descriptive statistics and the qualitative ones, in the light of the theoretical reference. Were interviewed 40 residents (24 from Recanto Feliz and 16 from Vila Dignidade). As to functional capacity, it was found that Recanto Feliz elderly presented less functional impairment than those of Vila Dignidade. Regarding the analysis of the eight axes of the Vancouver Protocol, the location of the condominiums had an impact on the residents' perception of the city of Araraquara, but Vila Dignidade interviewees were more satisfied than Recanto Feliz, except in relation to their homes. Regarding accessibility conditions, it was identified aspects to be improved in both condominiums, internally, regarding the need for physical adaptations of Vila Dignidade housings, and externally, regarding the importance of improving the infrastructure in the Neighborhood Unit of Recanto Feliz. The results obtained, combined with the theoretical development developed in this study, provided support for the interpretation of what represents adequate housing and how much this aspect influences the quality of life of the elderly person, and consequently, the capacity to enjoy the urban space. |

Diante deste incontestável fenômeno, o espaço urbano conta com uma concentração de idosos cada vez maior. Neste contexto, problemas intensificam-se e as desigualdades socioespaciais reduzem as possibilidades de alcance à moradia adequada. Atenta a esta questão, a Organização Mundial da Saúde lançou, no ano de 2007, o Guia Global Cidade Amiga do Idoso, que preconiza ações pautadas em oito eixos principais, em prol do planejamento urbano acessível e coerente ao envelhecimento populacional. Deste modo, presente pesquisa objetivou analisar as condições de habitabilidade e a capacidade funcional dos moradores de dois condomínios exclusivos para idosos: o Vila Dignidade e o Recanto Feliz, ambos implementados por meio de políticas públicas para idosos de baixa renda no município de Araraquara-SP. Trata-se de uma investigação transversal, descritiva baseada nos pressupostos do método quanti-qualitativo, com trabalho de campo de caráter exploratório, por meio de visitas aos conjuntos habitacionais, com a aplicação dos seguintes instrumentos: o Protocolo de Vancouver, mesmo recurso utilizado no desenvolvimento do Guia Global Cidade Amiga do Idoso e o questionário BOMFAQ para verificar os níveis de independência dos participantes. Os dados quantitativos foram analisados por meio de estatística descritiva simples e os qualitativos, à luz do referencial teórico. Foram entrevistados 40 moradores (24 do Recanto Feliz e 16 do Vila Dignidade). Quanto à capacidade funcional, apurou-se que os idosos do Recanto Feliz apresentaram menos prejuízos funcionais que os do Vila Dignidade. Sobre a análise dos oito eixos do Protocolo de Vancouver, a localização dos condomínios exerceu impactos na percepção dos moradores acerca da cidade de Araraquara, porém os entrevistados no Vila Dignidade apresentaram-se mais satisfeitos que os do Recanto Feliz, exceto em relação à edificação. Quanto às condições de acessibilidade dos locais, identificou-se aspectos a serem aprimorados em ambos os condomínios, internamente, no que concerne à necessidade de adequações físicas das moradias do Vila Dignidade, e externamente, no que se refere à importância de melhorar a infraestrutura na Unidade de Vizinhança do Recanto Feliz. Os resultados obtidos, aliados ao aprofundamento teórico desenvolvido neste estudo, forneceram subsídios para a interpretação do que representa a moradia adequada e o quanto este aspecto influencia na qualidade de vida da pessoa idosa, e consequentemente, na capacidade de usufruir do espaço urbano.Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)FAPESP: 2017/07875-3porUniversidade Federal de São CarlosCâmpus São CarlosPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Gerontologia - PPGGeroUFSCarMoradia adequadaPlanejamento urbanoPolíticas públicasCidade Amiga do IdosoEnvelhecimento populacionalUrban planningPublic policiesAge-friendly CitiesAdequate housingPopulation-agingCIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ARQUITETURA E URBANISMODireito à moradia adequada para a pessoa idosa de baixa renda: um estudo quanti-qualitativo sobre políticas públicas habitacionais no interior do estado de São PauloRight to adequate housing for low-income elderly people: a quanti-qualitative study on housing public policies in the interior of the state of São Pauloinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisOnlineinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Institucional da UFSCARinstname:Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCAR)instacron:UFSCARORIGINALSILVANayaraMendes_Diss.2019..pdfSILVANayaraMendes_Diss.2019..pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf4735830https://{{ getenv "DSPACE_HOST" "repositorio.ufscar.br" }}/bitstream/ufscar/11126/1/SILVANayaraMendes_Diss.2019..pdfe2978a79f8394571ebdda8a8b1b7d560MD51LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
