Resumo em Inglês: The quality of transport infrastructure, despite being an important component of the costs of this activity and, consequently, of the transactional ones, is a neglected aspect in the studies on the influence of the transport in the flows of international trade. However, from a gravitational general equilibrium model estimated by the Pseudo Maximum Likelihood of Poisson method, I proved that the quality of transport infrastructure is statistically significant to determine the intensity of international trade. In addition, the proposed structure allows the execution of comparative static exercises and, thus, to calculate the effects that increases of transport infrastructure quality generates on variables of interest such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP), exports value and multilateral resistance, both in the short and in the long term. The results show that countries with lower level of infrastructure quality are the main beneficiaries of a complete adaptation of the conditions of the international transport infrastructure. The data also shows that Brazil’s effort to offer a transport system of excellence, even though it brings less expressive advantages, it favors the development of several countries, notably the members of Mercosur.

No entanto, a partir de um modelo de equilíbrio geral gravitacional estimado pelo método de Pseudo Máxima Verossimilhança de Poisson, provou-se que essa característica é estatisticamente significante para determinar a intensidade das trocas comerciais internacionais. Além disso, a estrutura proposta permite a execução de exercícios de estáticas comparativas e, assim, calcular os efeitos que incrementos da qualidade gera sobre varáveis de interesse como Produto Interno Bruto (PIB), valor das exportações e resistências multilaterais, tanto no curto quanto no longo prazo.
