The health theme is listed in some official education documents, among them the National Curriculum Parameters (NCPs) and the new Common National Curriculum Base (CNCB). However, practicing Health Education (HE) in the school context is not viable, if teachers do not receive training to do so. There are reports from teachers that working with (HE) in school is not an easy task. Some authors justify these difficulties by the fact of teachers do not receive support from the school staff, lack of support in the textbook, the absence of na HE transversal curriculum in the curricular organization and mainly, due to deficiency in the initial training of teachers in relation to this issue. It is very common during Science and Biology classes, students submit questions related to health. Thus, with cancer being the second leading cause of death in Brazil and prevention the best way to avoid it, an approach that favors the pedagogical practice of (HE) with a focus on the theme of cancer in the initial training of teachers is considered as relevant and necessary. This paper aimed to analyze which the conceptions of Unicentro Biological Sciences students have about HE, CNCB, Transversal Themes and Cancer. It was offered as additional training a course in distance learning mode on these issues in order to contribute significantly in their training, so that later, when teachers, they may face difficulties to work the HE in the current school reality. The methodology adopted for this study was participatory research. The course was offered to the masters of the Master's Program in Education of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of Unicentro (GPT) as a pilot research for review and improvement and then developed the research with graduate students. In the analysis of the results, it was noticed that the course contributed significantly to the initial teacher training, expanding the views of the participants on HE and Cancer. The material provided during the course constituted the educational product, available on the GPT website. This will support the teaching and learning process about HE and the theme of cancer.The objectives of this research were achieved.
