Resumo: Themes focused on mental health care are still little addressed in society, which perpetuates the prejudices and stigmas related to the theme. It is also known that in recent years suicide rates and rates of mental disorders and sick leave due to depression and anxiety have increased. Therefore, this study aims to reflect on an educational practice as a way of awareness for mental health using the assumptions of health education in an urbanization company in the city of Guarapuava/ PR. This is a qualitative research whose methodology is based on Action Research. The theoretical framework covers the themes of Health Education, Organizational Psychology and Occupational Health Psychology. The proposed practice consisted of conducting a focus group with 13 employees from one of the company’s departments, covering topics related to mental health and psychosocial risks. The instruments used were the conversation wheel, the field diary and a questionnaire. After the meeting and data collection, they were analyzed under the methodology of narrative analysis. The contribution of mental health education in raising awareness of issues related to mental health in the work environment was evidenced.

Sabe-se ainda, que nos últimos anos as taxas de suicídio e os índices de transtornos mentais e afastamentos no trabalho por depressão e ansiedade têm aumentado. Diante disso, o presente trabalho visa refletir sobre uma prática educativa como via de conscientização para saúde mental utilizando-se dos pressupostos da Educação em Saúde em uma empresa de urbanização na cidade de Guarapuava/PR. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa cuja metodologia baseia-se na Pesquisa-Ação. A fundamentação teórica abarca os temas da Educação em Saúde, da Psicologia Organizacional e da Psicologia da Saúde Ocupacional. A prática proposta consistiu na realização de um grupo focal com 13 colaboradores de um dos departamentos da empresa, abrangendo temas relacionados à saúde mental e riscos psicossociais. Os instrumentos utilizados foram a roda de conversa, o diário de campo e um questionário. Após a realização do encontro e coleta de dados, os mesmos foram analisados sob a metodologia da análise das narrativas.
