Resumo: | The aim is to analyse the process of production of domestic violence agains women, based on the municipality of Guarapuava, Brazilian State of Parana. The city shows high rates of violence against women and it offers a public services network to fight that violence. We want to understand reasons of men’s violence against affective partners and against former partners through the lens of women that use specialized public services. We want to understand inhibitons and factors that face women in their search for violence disruption. We used fieldwork notes to observe women violence reality during their attendance by public services. We discussed Brazilian laws on gender violence, gender protection, and protection of female bodies in a historical view. After that, we discussed public service for women in Guarapuava. We discussed male oppression, today’s social construction of female body, and gender violence. It is possible to understand that domestic violence maintains its power because of historical construction processes of unequal gender relationships which delegated women to a secondary role and direct victims of violence based on cultural concepts of inferiority. |

O município apresenta índices elevados de violência contra as mulheres e mobiliza uma rede de serviços públicos, entidades e movimentos sociais para combatê-los. Assim, propomo-nos a compreender as “motivações” que levam os homens a praticar a violência contra as suas parceiras e exparceiras afetivas, a partir das mulheres que procuram atendimento especializado. Compreender os fatores impulsionadores e inibidores para que as mulheres busquem o rompimento do ciclo da violência. Para atingir tais objetivos, realizamos pesquisa bibliográfica de obras que nos possibilitam um olhar para o fenômeno da violência de gênero, bem como para a construção social do corpo das mulheres, o qual é repleto de significantes que lhe atribuem um status de menor valor, seja pela literatura, pelas religiões ou pela legislação, o que reflete diretamente nas relações sociais de gênero. Também utilizamos os registros de atendimentos realizados pela profissional do Serviço Social que atua na Secretaria de Políticas Públicas para as Mulheres do município, e que realiza o atendimento direto às mulheres em situação de violência. Realizamos uma análise da legislação brasileira, da concessão da violência sobre o corpo das mulheres, bem como os avanços conquistados ao longo do tempo. Na sequência, apresentamos um panorama da trajetória das políticas públicas para as mulheres no município, que é o ponto de partida da pesquisa. Abordamos a opressão masculina, a construção social do corpo da mulher, bem como a conceituação de violência de gênero. Além disso, é feito um apanhado sobre os feminismos e suas contribuições para o enfrentamento à violência de gênero. A partir da pesquisa, é possível compreender que a violência doméstica tem sua base em um processo histórico de construção de relações sociais de gênero desiguais, a partir de papéis designados, que delegam aos homens uma posição de superioridade em relação as mulheres, as quais são inferiorizadas e, até mesmo, culpabilizadas pelas violências sofridas.
