This study examines the relationship between the culture of the residents of the cities of Petrolina and Juazeiro/BA/PE with the facades of their homes through photographs of the details in the drawings of the facades. The category of analysis are: geometrism of designs in the fa?ades of Juazeiro and Petrolina old houses of the early 20th century from the perspective of memory, culture and identity. We analyzed testimonials from residents of houses that were built in the late 19th century, more precisely in the year 1875 to the early 20th century. Changes regarding old buildings, the workforce, the beauty and the characters who inhabited the buildings, as well as the slow and progressive destruction of records materials, denounce the movement of time and men's action. Reflecting on this issue, an issue I search instigated to seek answers: how the facades of the houses can highlight aspects of the culture of its inhabitants? In this way, documenting what is not lost through photos and provokes a debate in society in relation to the preservation of this heritage, so that there can be development of cities in line with the historical and cultural accumulation. The survey aims to investigate how the facades of the houses show the culture of its residents. Lime, Clay & Light brings the result of a social research, externally manifested through photography and that may prove to be a documentation of the progress of these cities and the preservation of architectural memory
