Considering the changes in the gender relations of contemporary society is possible to note that new representations are emerging in the academic field of Literature and arts in general. Four tales from the book Onze uma história (1995), of Bernardo Carvalho, were used as analytic corpus of research with the objective of inquire the way how the male characters from the work in question are presented, and to observe, in the same time, the way how they represent the broke with the heterosexual pattern and/or signalize the possible appear of a new male pattern , emerged on the second half of twenty century and in the beginnings of the twenty-ones. Observes as well the transformation of the own idea of masculinity in the present society, concept that acquires, in the scene of the present days, some pluralized aspect once that the idea of supermale is being questioned, giving place for man to get a express of yourself through different behaviors sawn as traditional or, in a specific thinking, compatible with his position on society. Under the evidenced look, an analysis was realized privileging some reading perspectives of the male behavior in the old and present societies, manifested on Literature, as, for example, the considerations from Silva (2004), Bourdieu (2003), Castells (1999), Nolasco (1993, 1995), Tolson (1983), Seixas (1998), Colling (2004), Gordon (2002), among others. It‟s concluded that the fact of the representation of fictional male subjects in the works written before the Cultural Revolution of 60‟s and 70‟s do not supported the reality of this changed man anymore, doing with which the examination of the Carvalho‟s work obtained relevance, just because it focalizes the male‟s new paradigms in his literary discourse.
