Resumo: | The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of operational parameters on the treatment of eutrophic waters by heterogeneous photo-catalysis. The work was performed using reactors type tanks operating in batch, a bank of ultra-violet lamps and an electro-magnetic stirring system. It was used as catalyst dioxide of titanium and a factorial experimental plan (2 3 ) was used involving the intensity of radiation (4.94 and 7.70 mW/cm 2 ), percentage of catalyst (0.10% e 0.5%) and the color of the affluent (30 and 70uH) to determine the impact of these parameters on the oxidation of the pollutants present in the water. The results obtained demonstrated that all the treatments showed elevated efficiencies of true color (69,04% - 88,09%), chlorophyll a (56,94% - 86,09%), DVS (44,82% - 66,50%) and COD (26,89% - 68,25% removal. The factor that showed statistically significant effect on color and COD removal was the percentage of catalyst used. The pH values, nitrate and nitrite were among the established limits by Ministry of Health of Brazil (518/2004), and together with total alkalinity and total phosphorus didn't vary during the process. The treatment that was shown viable it was T5 (30 uH, 0.5% and 4.94 mW/cm 2 ). In general it could be concluded that the process of photocatalysis was efficient at removing organic material from eutrophic waters. |

Made available in DSpace on 2015-09-25T12:18:56Z (GMT).
