The Scientific Literacy (SL) has been considered the goal in the search for an education in science which allows the citizens formation. Moreover, it is understood that the SL allows the acquiring skills which becomes the students enable to decision making in science and technology issues. Among the possible forms to promote the SL, there are approaches which care for argue and dialogue of aspects affecting the science, like the approach of the relationship Science-Technology-Society (STS) and History of Science (HS). In this sense, we established as general objective of the research to carry out a bibliographical review on Scientific Literacy in order to base, identify and build a relationship between this theme and the Science Fairs, to delimit a Pedagogical Project of Science Fairs with a focus on Scientific Literacy, although, with the growing of the researches in this field, the SL still has gaps, like the relationship between teaching practice and consistent evaluation with them proposed. According as it is characterized like an interdisciplinary activity and agglutinating of projects developed throughout the year, the Scientific Fair becomes an environment for SL which allows the development of skills related to scientific activities. Thereby, in this work is showed a propose of the SL will be realized through the Scientific Fairs. The proposal elaboration was based in the research realized about assumptions of SL, the approach of STS and HS and from the parameters that were identified in the literature for the promotion of Scientific Literacy. As base to the elaboration of Fair, which was considered the school community knowledge, it was introduced the theme Coral Reefs, which the school is inserted. In this project, we consider two schools that are located in Olinda / PE and in Paulista / PE, because they have the coast as their main resource, that is, many teachers and a large part of the students and their families use this environment for leisure and / or as a source of income. Therefore, bringing this subject to Basic Education becomes an interesting and differentiated strategy to build scientific knowledge and develop sustainable actions.
