In this thesis, we propose an analysis of the work "Lavoura Arcaica", written by Raduan Nassar, born in São Paulo. Considering the title as the problematic of this work, we intend to understand how it fulfills itself throughout the text. Through a critical perspective, our attention is drawn to what lies under the ink. The tillage. But not all tillages, an antique one. The old tillage, the one that comes first, the origin. Considering this, we are looking for the archaic tillage that comes with the narrators voice, in search of its origin. The language, which materializes as a character and is also a merger of voices, raises to surface of the narrative reveling hidden aspects, what is not said, creating a collection of tillages. As theoretical basis, we observe the mimetic movements through Walter Benjamin s perspective, which considering the Aristotelian prism, has as its main thesis that the human mimetic capacity takes refuge and focuses on language and writing. This research proposes that mimesis shows itself under the cracks of the speech, representing what cannot be said, what language cannot handle and needs to be exposed.
