This research seeks to investigate the communication processes of the Youth Popular Uprising (YPU) as a transforming and popular social practice, in order to deepen the understanding of the relationship between the youth, popular movement and popular communication categories, that is, to analyze and expand, from theoretical point of view, the notions about popular communication and reflect its absorption in the course of the YPU, especially the empowerment of digital media in the pandemic context, seeking to understand how the challenges of the movement are expressed in its communication and how they organizes to overcome them. The methodology used consists of bibliographical research, documentary research, interviews and participant observation of youth participation in the production of YPU’s communication in the movement's digital social networks: Blog, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and National Website, during the movement's activities, that took place from 2008 to 2022, such as the National Camps, Congresses of the National Union of Students and mobilizations for better living conditions. The movement's communication develops while the movement itself is constituted, incorporating elements of professional communication with low reflection, and despite claiming that it has centrality in the educational process that young people may encounter in communication, that is, popular communication, there is a centrality in the search for incorporating and appropriating techniques, especially online, resulting in the loss of the perspective of training and organizing young people for the transformation of their reality through the struggles, that the movement itself defends.
