The State, in its economic, political and social scope has a crucial role in the formulation of the sciences. The Science, that was trying to explain the natural phenomena, developed and unfolded itself in many areas and fields, trying to answer the complex issues that are part of the modern world. Health takes place as one of these complex fields that initially involved the history of diseases and life conditions and had to be questioned as this theory alone wasn t anymore justifying the complex existences and ways of living. Specifically the Collective Health in Brazil reinvented ways of responding to the many and complex issues that arise in the scope of life and life conditions. Thus it tried to explore the concept-politic-historical trajectory of the constitution of the Collective Health field in Brazil based in a methodology that makes use of analytical elements based on the very reflection the study brings, in an investigation move called entre-meios / among-ways . The speeches of the participants about episodes and reflections about the happenings that marked the history of Collective Health in Brazil, which gave the means to the composing of a toolbox for the development of the study were presented. The different meanings for Collective Health were presented based on empiric material, as well as on an analysis considering other points of view about the same object, where an authorial view about the studied object was sought. Besides, based on concepts search and theories about the fields, different approaches to the field s conceptuation were presented, and the toolbox and the analysis of the explained matters exposed before were used to build some considerations and questions. Based on the empiric and concept-theoretical databases, an analysis about Collective Health in Brazil aiming to understand the field based on a critical view about the scientification of the knowledge fields was developed. Considering the singularity of a field still in transformation, that established itself as a particular political scene, where the Brazilian Sanitary Reform was being constructed, one can understand it s formation as a field of militant knowledge e practices, for the construction of new paradigms to explain and intervene in Brazilian people s health.
