The dissertation presented here has as object of study the neoliberal flexibility of the Brazilian labor market and its implications in the work of social workers, having as main data source for the analysis of these implications, the articles published in the Proceedings of the Brazilian Congress of Social Workers , of the years 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 and whose object of study was the labor market and working conditions of social workers. For the development of this research, we first resort to the deepening of theoretical categories of first mediation such as capital, labor, value, capitalist development, as well as the particularities of the development of the capitalist mode of production in Brazil, including the historical legacies of the period slave trade, as important elements in the construction of a labor market structurally flexible. The historical legacies of the long slave-owning period have manifested themselves in the hierarchical and segmented form of the Brazilian labor market, marked by alarming levels of informality, unemployment, and precarious jobs. For the basis of the study, we did extensive bibliographical research on books, dissertations, theses and government research. The productions considered were those that have as central problem the category of labor, the development of the capitalist mode of production and the Brazilian labor market. The research proceeded to the second chapter, aiming to expose the negative transformations in the Brazilian labor market from the entry of the neoliberal model in 1990, a phase that marks the deepening of the flexibility of the Brazilian labor market. The analyzes carried out were based on the literature and documents collected and analyzed on the Brazilian labor market in the decade cited. Finally, in the last chapter of this dissertation, based on the understanding that the adoption of neoliberal politics, begun in the 1990s, impacted the work of social workers in various dimensions of professional work, we carried out a research in the Annals of the Brazilian Congress of Assistants Social, from 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016, where we raised the articles that have the central theme of the labor market and the working conditions of social workers from the year 2000, considering the extent of the labor market debate of social workers, highlighting the limits and contributions of the productions, regarding the exposition of the implications of the process of liberal flexibilization in the work places of the social workers, privileging the analysis on the variables: wages, contracts, workload, reduction in protection labor and social security of the workers, besides the analysis on unemployment o, outsourcing and on the influences of gender and race discrimination in shaping the labor market of the professional category.
