This study aims to investigate the transformations that have taken place in the model advocated by the principle of democratic management in education and the principles of managerialism, focusing on the repercussions for professional education in the FAETEC Network - Fundação de Apoio à Escola Técnica. We chose to analyze the concepts of democratic management in the documents that guide the organization of FAETEC. To do so, we rely on the help of the historical materialism approach and the theoretical references[WU1] that support it. We proceeded to a survey of the bibliographic production on the research topic, considering the delimited time frame. We historically situate the concept of Democratic Management, considering the events that allude to the process of democratization of Brazilian society and its consequences for educational policy. We analyzed the presence of democratic management principles and managerialism in the selected documents that guide the organization of the Faetec Network. We start from a time frame, from the Federal Constitution of 1988, bringing the debates in the Education Subcommittee in the National Constituent Assembly and seeking to identify the reflexes of the economic policies implemented by governments in the educational process. Considering the object and objectives of the research, we focused on the analysis of FAETEC documents, aiming to investigate how the principle of democratic management is presented in this school system. Finally, we present our final considerations, understanding that the research problem provoked us to seek to overcome the appearance of the phenomenon of democratic management in the particularity of the Faetec network and the historical-political and social context from which it originated. We seek to explain that there are mediations of different natures and relationships; support in the field of conflicts that permeate the social relations characteristic of a society of peripheral capitalism, as in the particularity of Brazilian society, as analyzed by Florestan Fernandes.
