The aim of this work is to build a story that promotes the vision of women's participation in the constitution of psi area in Rio de Janeiro. Therefore, we decided to investigate the activities and the inclusion of women in a relevant institution for Psychology during it s autonomy process. The studied institution was the Instituto de Seleção e Orientação Profissional (ISOP), of Funadação Getulio Vargas (FGV), from it s foundation in August 1947, by the end of the 1970 s. We used as source data collected from annual written report of ISOP and interviews with people who worked at the Institute during the period studied. Thus, we seek to combine the understanding of the moment lived by psychology with ways of seeing and thinking about the inclusion of women in society. The theoretical framework used is from Brazilian authors such as Ana Maria Jacó-Vilela, Paulo Rosas, Antônio Gomes to non-Brazilian ones as Aldo Carotenuto, Bosch Fiol Ferrer and Perez, who contributed with their researchs and reports to the setting of the history of psychology. In addition, authors that permeate our gender perspective as Judith Butler, Thomas Laqueur and Margareth Rago. The alliance prospects of these various authors to the collected data produced an analysis that promoted the emergence of several factors that influenced women's visibility in the history of Psychology. We believe that this work can contribute to the expansion of the field of women's studies in the history of Psychology, perhaps of Brazilian Science
