This thesis investigates the representations and perspectives of gender and sexuality, articulated to aging and old age, in the discursive practices of education and (in) health. The objective is, in particular, to analyze the statements that operate for the constitution of a discursive network on aging, as a generational marker that composes the subject, as well as to produce strategies to research-intervene with the subjects, aiming to produce fissures in the ways in which the education and health produces and relates to knowledge. We produce problematizations about what are the notions of old age as a generational phase, and we especially seek to understand how the crossings of gender and sexuality compose the notion of the elderly subject. Together with other subjects, from the university extension experience entitled Gender, Sexuality and Aging (GSE/UERJ), we tension the desires, needs, obligations and characteristics that are expected to be found in an elderly body, from the perspective of healthy life, based on the idea of health a certain measure of intelligibility, and we investigate which pedagogies are produced to establish these meanings. In this way, we understand the notion of health as inseparable from the understanding of the subject, composing, along with other crossings already mentioned, old age as performativity (POCAHY, 2012). We are interested in investigating, as well as intervening, with the notions and guidelines in the field of health promotion and, more specifically, in health education, and how these relate to productions on aging, producing pedagogical meanings that make up the scope of discourses about the body and the elderly subject, (re)producing meanings, ways of being in the world, and the government of old age.
