The purpose of this master thesis is to understand the structural evolution of Vazante and Canastra Groups, to serve this purpose has as a starting point the geological and structural mapping in scale 1:50:000. For the study area, were individualized 4 main mapping units, taking into account criteria differentiable diagnostics field as mineralogical composition, geomorphological aspects, kind of sedimentary structures, continuity / geometry of the units, topographical and structural control. The application of geophysical data for geological mapping has been systematically used to better understand the region in study. Thus, were used the products of aerial surveys as a complementary tool for better definition of litoestrutural diagnosis, highlighting the continuity / geometry of the structures , their possible relationships with magnetic lineaments, faults zones ( mineralized or not) and also as a guide for the refinement of geological contacts.The structural subdivision of the study area was divided into four main phases of deformation (D1 , D2 , D3 and D4) , related to a single orogenic event of Brazilian age. The definition of events, stages, deformation increments required repetitive data analysis, spatial distribution between them and considering the basic interpretations of overlap between the structures observed in the field. From the hierarchy of the mapped structures it was possible to have better understanding of the data representation in the study of scale and scope thereof also in a regional context.The use of microscopy has crucial importance because it helped to better differentiation of textural arrangements, understanding of the structural details and subsidized in defining more accurate ranking of deformation phases that defined the structural compartments. However, the information produced totaled for better targeting of new targets of detail, improved the elucidation of structural problems addressed and emphasized the advantages of using airborne geophysical tools in the implementation of interpretations. The mapping performed refined the data collection about the limits between the mapped drives and made possible the correlation of the mapping units with the lithostratigraphic units regionally enshrined in literature.
