In order to understand the model how the cooperation and direct investment between Mozambique and each of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) countries are processing, has been produced this thesis. The orientation question was how the cooperation and direct investment relations between Mozambique and each of the BRICS countries are taking place? The research hypothesis points out that although the new cooperation dynamics between Mozambique and each of the BRICS countries show a tendencies to make Mozambique less dependent on foreign aid, what it needs now, is a nationalist policy of receiving foreign aid and Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) that complies, at least five aspects: paying taxes, generating new jobs, creating the productive domestic chain, allowing the participation of Mozambican financial capital in the enterprises and diversification of exports. The empirical evidence to support this theory was based on two methodological approaches, namely: qualitative and quantitative. The historical materialism, literature review and documentary analysis were also, employed in this thesis. The dependency theory, historical institutionalism and structuralism were applied as the main analytical tools. From this methodological path with the theoretical framework, this thesis was able to find out mixed conclusions. If, on the one hand, the cooperation indicators tend to present news models of relationship that the thesis assumes as the ones that could reduce Mozambique's dependence on foreign aid, on the other hand, the BRICS direct investment indicators show in a diversified ways that is not equidistant from the neoliberal pattern. However, the variation of the jobs is explained by the variation of FDI and exist a significant statistic model
