Resumo: | In the second half of the 18th century, the Valongo region became the main gateway for enslaved people, forcibly brought to Brazil from different parts of the African continent. Since then, all around the Wharf, a complex infrastructure was set up for the sale, treatment of the sick and burial of enslaved people who could not resist the diseases resulting from the terrible conditions of the Atlantic crossing. Even with all the adversities that resulted in pain and suffering, black resistance was present through the maintenance of the diverse black identities that arrived here, and made themselves re-exist, transforming the Port Zone into a space of black memory, of the African diaspora. and later of the Bahian diaspora in the second half of the 19th century. The black presence gathered around the port work, the religions that manifested themselves there and the cultural traditions, made the region around Pedra do Sal and the rediscovered Valongo Pier, become known as Little Africa. Through the assumptions of decoloniality, this work intends to create a analysis and proposal for a pedagogical didactic script, which allows visitors to the region to identify Little Africa as a counter-hegemonic heritage, of resistance of the Brazilian Afro-descendant memory. |

Submitted by Andréia CEH/D (deiacehd@gmail.com) on 2023-04-12T18:22:38Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertação - Francisco das Chagas de Alcântara Araripe - 2022 - Completa.pdf: 3134693 bytes, checksum: ca9adfab384923a8ab760f60e6ef3eec (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2023-04-12T18:22:38Z (GMT). In the second half of the 18th century, the Valongo region became the main gateway for enslaved people, forcibly brought to Brazil from different parts of the African continent. |
