The Military College of Rio de Janeiro (CMRJ) is considered the oldest male military educational institution in the country. It was founded in 1889 and is linked to the Brazilian Army. In its centenary there was a contest for admission of students from the elementary school. In 26 years of living changes occurred in access as well as its physical and sports participation in primary school. The development of this thesis aims to understand the process of interaction of students at this institution, investigating and analyzing the military educational institution, especially the acceptance of women into it, the disciplinary power and gender, identity construction and their representation into this corps. The survey was conducted through three articles. The first, "The speech on the access to the stay of women in the Brazilian Armed Forces: what Literature tells" aimed to map the scientific papers produced on women in the military environment; the second, "Between discipline and order: An identity construction of girls at the Military College of Rio de Janeiro "analyzed the structure of the identity of students in school activities since 1989, and the third," The relationship of the Military Academy students from Rio de Janeiro with physical and sports practices: the recreated tradition analyzed their representation on the physical and sporting activities carried out in CMRJ with the insertion and interaction at the present time. The methodology was guided by a qualitative approach and the research is descriptive. The first study used 25 researches on women in Brazilian militarism; on the second and third, the subjects were twenty 2nd grade high school female students of the CMRJ, in which data collection technique used was the semi-structured interview. Data analysis followed the dense description proposed by Clifford Geertz, dialogue with Foucault and his reflections on identity and Moscovici and the theory of Social Representation. The results point to social and political visibility of a mixed military school environment, suitable for their experience as well as for the structure of their participation in the Army and the Brazilian Armed Forces. It is concluded that the CMRJ has set our times, causing adjustments to all school sectors, especially in the Physical Education subject of our investigation in the third study. It is admitted, however, that in part, those changes are reflections of disruption in school system, the precariousness of keeping professionals because of lack of public contest, changes in the administrative sector and school command, if compared to those experienced by pioneering in the late 1990. On the other hand, institutional values remained the civic-military practices (united order) that anchored in the ideals of masculinity and supported the military tradition of the school. The Physical Education classes built with special attention to physical training, endurance and strength at the centenary school moved to physical and sports activities contributing to the discipline and implementation of the expected qualified education and military tradition desired by the students
