Resumo: | The objective of this work was to analyze the composition of trace elements present in the nano, ultrafine, fine and coarse particulate matter (PM) of vehicular emissions around the UERJ Institute of Application, using the model 120 MOUDI II sampling equipment, which is a cascade impactor. Wide resolution. The elements analyzed were: Cd, Co, Cu, Ni, Ag, Be, Pb, Cr, Sn, Sr, Mn, Mo, Te, Mg, Zr, Se, P, S, Rh, Pt, W, As, Sb, V, Li Ti, Fe and Bi. Eight samples were obtained from March / 2019 to May / 2019. After acid extraction, the elements were analyzed via ICP - OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry). The results were statistically treated using descriptive and multivariate statistics tools (correlation coefficient, cluster analysis and principal component analysis), and the calculation of the enrichment factor was also performed. The concentration of PM in the studied mass fractions of PMF (PM fine) was 3.9 times higher than PMG (PM gross). The average concentrations of nano, ultrafine, fine, coarse particles were: 11.8; 8.2; 7.6 and 7.1 µg m-3, respectively. The nano and ultrafine particles had the highest total average concentration (20.0 µg m-3) in relation to the other sizes. The trace metal concentrations obtained in the fractions were compared with the air quality standards recommended by EPA and NIOSH and other locations. When compared to the legislations, only Cu (48.72 ng m-3) was below the NIOSH limit, with limits of 100 ng m-3 for Cu. There was a great correlation between most of the trace metals studied, this is probably due to the fact that they are associated with various sources of vehicular emission, and it is not possible to attribute the metal to its respective origin. The elements Cd, Ag, Tl, Bi, Pb, Sn, Mo, Te, Se, S, Rh, Pt, W, As, Sb Co, Cu, Ni, Sr, Li, Zr and P are enriched by anthropogenic source and vehicular. |

Submitted by Boris Flegr (boris@uerj.br) on 2021-01-06T14:09:36Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Roger Rodrigues de Castro.pdf: 3364164 bytes, checksum: 1e694f7af5e6c6314c4498d0b7946ae6 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-01-06T14:09:36Z (GMT).
