This work has for objective to understand, in the current historical context of the society occidental person, the diverse representations on the death, dying, the loss, the grief and it in its personal and social dimensions. The analysis has broken of the scene hypermodern where the death and the suffering are interdicted. The technological resources, in the present time, come contributing for the removal of the death, with discoveries that make possible the prolongation of the life and with promises of accomplishment of the utopian desire of the man to become immortal. As immediate consequence of these elements found in the social imaginary contemporary, to die a trespass becomes and the death distance of the condition human being. At the same time, the ideal of full happiness silences the suffering expressions, that if become not desired. For the analysis of the consequences of this context for the hipermodern man, this study bases on stories, depositions registered in the site Depois da perda and found expressions of loss in the art, the literature and the music, made for that they live deeply or they have lived deeply grief for the death of a dear being.
