The streamlining of procedures for the integration of environmental issues in construction implies a greater control of all steps in the process of construction, maintenance and changes in post-occupation. The rehabilitation of buildings in Brazil has been a recurring theme among the concerned sectors, mainly in the construction industry. This presents itself as a favorable field for technical investment, scientific and financial. As a reference in national and international interventions, the term architectural retrofi, is a business opportunity, a solution to urban revitalization and upgrading of buildings, with its infrastructure obsolete and outdated equipment. Through literature review, we identified the best design practices, technology solutions and development of criteria for the use of a retrofit. This work aims to establish guidelines for retrofit project in the context of sustainable construction. The research method consists of literature research, field, content analysis of documents, projects and certifications. As a final result of the research, from synthesis and analysis, we identified the guidelines to be applied in retrofit project aimed at the concept of sustainable construction.
