Resumo: O estudo objetivou conhecer e analisar as representações sociais de tabagistas que tiveram recaída após um período de cessação do tabagismo (PCT). Pesquisa qualitativa, com participação de 27 pessoas que participaram de pelo menos um grupo de tabagismo e tiveram recaída após a cessação do tabagismo. Os dados foram analisados à luz da Teoria das Representações Sociais e segundo a técnica de Análise de Conteúdo. Foram elaboradas quatro categorias de análise: representações do cigarro para o usuário do produto; gatilhos para voltar ao tabagismo; representação da unidade de saúde para os participantes e dificuldades enfrentadas no PCT. Após a análise das entrevistas, foram elencados 24 Diagnósticos de Enfermagem e 20 Intervenções, os quais subsidiaram a elaboração do grupo de tabagismo. A técnica utilizada nesta fase foi a Pesquisa Convergente Assistencial. Das dez pessoas convidadas para o grupo, apenas sete compareceram nos primeiros encontros, e destas sete, todas conseguiram manter-se sem fumar até o fim desta investigação. Essa pesquisa contribui para reflexões e avanço do saber no campo assistencial ao usuário do tabaco, considerando toda relevância que a temática apresenta.

Qualitative research, with the participation of 27 people who participated in at least one smoking group and relapsed after cessation of smoking. The data were analyzed considering the Theory of Social Representations and according to the technique of Content Analysis. Four categories of analysis were elaborated: cigarette representations for the user of the product; triggers to return to smoking; representation of the health unit for the participants and difficulties faced in the PCT. After analyzing the interviews, 24 Nursing Diagnoses and 20 Interventions were enrolled, which subsidized the elaboration of the smoking group. The technique used in this phase was the Convergent Care Research. Ten people were invited to the group, but only seven attended the first meetings, and of these seven, all could remain non-smoking until the end of this investigation.
