Resumo: This research proposal portrays the learning of music through choral singing in a movement perspective inspired by Laban (1978, 1990) and is motivated by this researcher's trajectory, concerning the musical language in basic education schools. It aims to research body expression, in the vocal preparation of children's choral singing, aiming at its application in Art classes in elementary school. The research was carried out in the 4th year of the Municipal School José do Patrocínio with students aged 9 years old, and in the 5th year of the Municipal School Arnaldo Estevão de Figueiredo, with students aged 10 years old, both schools rural. Specifically, this study intends to identify the students' conception about body expression and vocal preparation, analyze the proposal of the Laban System and its applicability in the vocal preparation of the children's choir, as well as elaborate didactic material from the studies carried out. The methodological design is guided by qualitative research, with action research procedures (TRIPP, 2005). The main foundation for body movement is found in Laban (1978, 1990), with elements such as weight, time, space and flow, in addition to a possible notation of movements – based on its precepts – for directions in vocal preparation. For a reflective discourse, the research brings assumptions of musical education and choral singing by authors such as Jaques-Dalcroze (1931) - with his perspective of music related to body movement - Gaborim-Moreira (2015) and Leck (2020), with the theoretical-methodological approaches and experiences in choral singing, in addition to other relevant theoretical contributions, with the aim of providing a pedagogical practice that fits into the reality of the classroom. Key words: music education in elementary school, children's choir singing, Body movement and expression, Laban.Esta proposta de investigação retrata o aprendizado da música por meio do canto coral em uma perspectiva do movimento, inspirada em Laban (1978, 1990) e tem motivação na trajetória deste pesquisador, concernente à linguagem musical em escolas de educação básica. Ela objetiva pesquisar a expressão corporal na preparação vocal do canto coral infantil, visando à sua aplicação nas aulas de Arte no ensino fundamental. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida no 4º ano da Escola Municipal José do Patrocínio com alunos na faixa etária de 09 anos de idade, e, no 5º ano da Escola Municipal Arnaldo Estevão de Figueiredo, com alunos na faixa etária de 10 anos de idade, ambas escolas rurais. Especificamente, este estudo pretende identificar a concepção dos alunos acerca da expressão corporal e preparação vocal, analisar a proposta do Sistema Laban e sua aplicabilidade na preparação vocal do coro infantil, bem como elaborar material didático a partir dos estudos realizados. O desenho metodológico é orientado pela pesquisa qualitativa, com procedimentos da pesquisa-ação (TRIPP, 2005). A principal fundamentação para o movimento corporal encontra-se em Laban (1978, 1990), com elementos como peso, tempo, espaço e fluxo, além de uma possível notação de movimentos – a partir de seus preceitos – para direcionamentos na preparação vocal. Para um discurso reflexivo, a pesquisa traz pressupostos da educação musical e do canto coral de autores como Jaques-Dalcroze (1931) - com sua perspectiva de música relacionada ao movimento corporal - Gaborim-Moreira (2015) e Leck (2020), com as abordagens teórico-metodológicas e experiências no canto coral, além de outros aportes teóricos pertinentes, com a finalidade de propiciar uma prática pedagógica que se insira na realidade da sala de aula.
