Resumo: The Coronavirus Desease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has been characterized as one of the biggest international public health problems in recent decades. An event like this has a direct impact on the lives of all humanity. This crisis caused an increase in hospital admissions, especially in Intensive Care Units (ICU) due to the high risk of death, causing, in addition to physiological changes, psychological and social disturbances. Therefore, this research aimed to understand the movement of subjectivity of the person who was hospitalized in the ICU as a result of COVID-19, analyzing the subjective configurations of survivors as well as relating the experience of family members of people who were in this situation. In addition, it characterized the work developed by the psychologist in an ICU-COVID. It is a study based on the Theory of Subjectivity and to account for the studies of subjectivity in this perspective, the Qualitative Epistemology developed by González Rey was chosen as an epistemological basis and the methodology used was the Constructive-Interpretive. Five people participated in the research, being two male survivors of the coronavirus infection, two relatives of the respective patients and a psychologist who worked on the front line. For the production of information, the interview, the complement of sentences, the activity with figures and document analysis were used as instrumental resources. The results are presented in three main axes: the subjective meanings of illness for patients, the subjective meanings related to the experience of family members and the care proposal of psychologists on the front line in the face of the coronavirus. It was concluded that the experience of the aggravation of the COVID-19 infection generated anguish, fear and suffering and that the support of Psychology professionals on the front line was fundamental for the promotion of care carried out by the patient. Keywords: COVID-19. Subjectivity. Intensive Care Unit.

Intensive Care Unit.
