It is a study about the political participation of young Argentines and Chileans who intends to present the main discussions around this theme. Through a Systematic Review of Literature (RSL), it was possible to perceive that scholars have been considering the following thematic categories, In Chile: Historical perspective on the theme; Generational aspects; Reflections on youth policies; Repertories and new configurations of youth participation; Imaginaries about young people in institutional discourses and public policies; Participation in the context of mass consumption; Impressions of young people on politics; Already in the Argentine context: Youth and education / Politics in the School context / Social movements / student; young people in the urban context; Representations and discursive formations; Historical Perspective and Policies for Youth. These thematic categories have helped us to understand the difficult historical relationship between young people and the State in the processes of formulating public policies aimed at these social actors that have been neglected and misinterpreted since their emergence as important social subjects, not only from this perspective, but also helps us to understand its importance in improving and deepening democracy in the countries under analysis.
