Diante disso, percebeu-se que esse material didático requer o desenvolvimento de pesquisas que possam contribuir com a prática dos docentes, oferecendo-lhes subsídios teórico-práticos a fim de que redimensionem e ampliem as atividades voltadas à leitura, compreensão e interpretação de texto. A coleção selecionada Singular & Plural é constituinte das coleções aprovadas pelo Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD-2017) e adotada pelas escolas da Rede Estadual de Pernambuco. O estudo procedeu a uma pesquisa bibliográfica, de natureza quali-quantitativa para que a frequência de estratégias de leitura e os modelos de leitura promovidos por elas fossem ilustrados e explorados. Portanto, a pesquisa esteve situada nos princípios teóricos dos estudos que abordam a leitura e a compreensão leitora do ponto de vista sociocognitivo, para isso recorremos à Solé (2012); Kato (2007); Kleiman (2008) (2011); Leffa (1996) e na pesquisa em livro didático, a Soares (2002); Bunzen (2005); Batista (2009); Rangel (2003), dentre outros. A respeito dos resultados, verificamos que os quatro volumes apresentam quantidade significativa de atividades que contemplam o desenvolvimento da compreensão leitora voltadas para estudantes do Ensino Fundamental Anos Finais. Por conseguinte, como proposta de intervenção didática, foram sugeridas atividades complementares para o livro didático com vistas a colaborar com outras opções que possam vir a fomentar a aprendizagem e a enriquecer o conteúdo abordado nos livros.CAPESThis dissertation emerged from the observation of the researcher who, as a Portuguese Language teacher at the State Network of Pernambuco, noted the difficulty presented by some students during reading activities and the important role of the textbook as the main instrument in the teaching and learning relationship. Therefore, it was noticed that this didactic material required the development of research that could contribute to the practice of teachers, offering them theoretical-practical subsidies in order to resize and expand activities aimed at reading, understanding and interpretation of text. The selected collection is constituent of the collections approved by the National Program of Didactic Book (PNLD-2017) and adopted by the schools of the State Network of Pernambuco. The study carried out a qualitative and quantitative documentary research so that the frequency of reading strategies and reading models promoted by them were illustrated and explored. Therefore, the research was based on the theoretical principles of the studies that approach the reading and the reading comprehension from the socio-cognitive point of view, for this we resort to Solé (2012); Kato (2007); Kleiman (2008) (2011); Leffa (1996) and the textbook research, Soares (2002); Bunzen (2005); Batista (2009); Rangel (2003), among others. Regarding the results, we verified that the four volumes present a significant amount of activities that contemplate the development of the reading comprehension directed toward students of Elementary School II.
