Intermediado pela ação docente, o contato da criança com a literatura tem sido encaminhado de modo a levar o leitor a descobrir o prazer da leitura literária. Contudo, ao balizar suas ações centradamente no gosto do aluno, a escola acaba por propagar uma mentalidade de facilitação e conformismo ao trivial e aos padrões culturais sustentados pela mídia e pela sociedade consumista. Em decorrência do exposto, procuramos, neste estudo, analisar a postura que alunos e professores têm assumido ao interagirem com o texto literário no âmbito escolar. Na pesquisa, foram consultados estudantes, professores e coordenadores pedagógicos/diretores os quais, através de questionários padronizados, forneceram informações que permitiram analisar as práticas de leitura literária vigentes na escola. Para a configuração do atual modelo de ensino, no contexto estudado, exerceram papel determinante os pressupostos de ordem metodológica encaminhados por dois programas de incentivo à leitura, implantados na região em meados dos anos 80: o "método João Wanderley" e o projeto "Os livros criam asas". A partir das orientações disseminadas pelos programas citados, um certo espontaneísmo passou a predominar nas escolas e o reflexo dessa postura se faz sentir nas aulas de leitura atualmente em vigor. Concluímos, portanto, que o espontaneísmo que impera no universo escolar precisa ser revisto, sob o risco de estarmos escamoteando funções importantes da leitura da literatura em nome do prazer e do gosto do aluno. Nesse sentido, a configuração das aulas de leitura evidencia a necessidade da superação da dicotomía entre prazer e saber.Abstract: The reading access is made real, as a rule, through the school institution. Intermediated by teaching action, the child contact with the literature has been guided as to lead the reader to discover the pleasure in the literary reading. Although, in setting up its actions centralized in the student's taste, the school ends in spreading a facilitated and conformism mentality to the trivial and to the cultural standards maintained by the midia and by the consuming society. Owing to the exposed, we try, in this study, to analyze the posture that students and teachers have assumed when interact with the literary text, in the school ambit. In the research, students, teachers and pedagogical coordinates/directors were consulted, that through standardized questionnaires, provided informations that allowed us to analyze the standings of the literary reading practice in school. To the configuration of the present teaching model, in the studied context, the presuppositions of methodological order performed a determining function direct by two programs of reading incentive, implanted in the region in the middle of the 80s: the "João Wanderley's method" and the project "The books create wings". From the orientations disseminated by the mentioned programs, a sort of spontaneousness began to predominate in the schools and the reflex of this posture is felt in the reading classes in effect currently. We concluded, therefore, that the spontaneousness that rules the school universe ne eds to be revised under the risk of being filching important functions of the literature reading in the name of the student pleasure and taste.
