[102-107]Resumo: Essa dissertação discute a relevância do futebol como um elemento da cultura brasileira, apresentando dados e reflexões sobre essa temática. Realiza-se também uma breve reflexão sobre o conceito de cultura e sobre a história do futebol em nosso país buscando encontrar possíveis relações entre esse esporte e o contexto político e social em questão, desde a chegada desse esporte ao Brasil no final do século XIX, pela sua fase oligárquica no início do século XX e sua popularização ao longo do século XX, assim como seus usos pelo Varguismo (1937-1945) e com a Ditadura Civil- Militar iniciada em 1964. Sabendo da relevância do esporte no Brasil e levando em consideração a existência de outros estudos que buscam inserir no estudo de história elementos culturais diversos - como as artes plásticas e a música - reflete-se sobre a possibilidade de se utilizar o futebol como um elemento a ser levado em consideração para o ensino de História. Soma-se a isso estudos acadêmicos sobre o futebol em ascensão no Brasil nos últimos anos. Após apresenta-se uma investigação que foram analisados a presença de documentos relacionados ao futebol em livros didáticos de história no formato temático para o Ensino Fundamental, anos finais, lançadas pelos editais do PNLD entre 2002 e 2017. A pesquisa se deu inicialmente com a finalidade de verificar a existência ou não de documentos relacionados ao futebol e como os autores propõe ou sugerem seu trabalho nas aulas de História, se o documento é utilizado apenas como uma ilustração, sem nenhuma interação didática ou com uso didático parcial, ou se é tratado enquanto uma fonte histórica, fazendo dele parte primordial do estudo se tornando base para o aprendizado histórico. Em linhas gerais pode-se concluir que poucos foram os documentos encontrados - e a maioria em um único volume de uma coleção - se levarmos em conta a quantidade de obras analisadas assim como ainda menos receberam o uso adequado. Finalmente apresenta-se, a partir das análises, uma metodologia de ensino que traz uma sequência didática elaborada a partir da reflexão e da proposta de análise de um conjunto de fontes relacionadas ao futebol como - fontes escritas, fontes orais, fontes iconográficas, - e da inter-relação entre elas seu uso para ensinar História. Palavras-chave: Ensino de História; Futebol; PNLD; Manuais didáticos; Fontes Históricas.Abstract: The following thesis discusses the soccer relevance as an element from the Brazilian culture, presenting data and reflections about that theme. A brief reflection is also performed on the concept of culture and the history of soccer in our country, looking for possible relationships between the sport and the social political context at matter, since the sport arrival in Brazil at the end of the 19th century, through its oligarchic phase in the early 20th century and its popularization throughout the 20th century, as well as how it was used by varguismo (1937 - 1945) and the Civil-Military Dictatorship started in 1964. Knowing the relevance of sport in Brazil and taking into account the presence of other studies that are looking to insert diverse cultural elements into the study of History - such as fine arts and music - we can reflect about the possibility of using soccer as an element to be taken into account for teaching History. It also adds the rising academic studies on soccer in Brazil in the last years. After that, it presents a research that analyzed the presence of documents related to soccer in history textbooks without thematic format for Elementary School, final years, released by PNLD editors between 2002 and 2017. The research initially took place with the purpose of verifying whether or not documents related to soccer exist and how the authors propose or suggest their use in History classes, if the document is used only as an illustration, without any didactic interaction or with partial didactic use, or if it is treated as a historical source, making it a fundamental part of the study and becoming the basis for historical learning. In general terms, it can be concluded that few documents were found - and most of them in a single volume of a collection - if we take into account the number of works analyzed as well as even less from those received the proper use. Finally, from the analyses, a teaching methodology that brings a didactic sequence set up from the reflection and the analysis proposal of a sources group related to soccer is presented being - written sources, oral sources, iconographic sources, - and from the interrelationship between them, their use to teach history.
