Resumo: With the development of agroecology, organic agriculture and the demand of organic food, questions are still open, concerning the agroecosystem production and intensification while maintaining economic, social, environmental and nutritional sustainability, especially in tropical regions. The demand for organic fertilizers that serve this agriculture is emerging, vegetable origin fertilizers are valid alternatives, however, there are doubts concerning its efficiency in intensive agroecosystems and demanding crops, such as vegetables. The general objective was to evaluate the contribution of vegetable origin fertilization in the agroeconomic performance of vegetables in an organic production system and effect on biological and chemical soil attributes, in ?Baixada Fluminense? conditions. In chapter 1, the sustainability of a long - term diversified organic agroecosystem of vegetables based on vegetable origin fertilization was evaluated through the characterization of soil biological and chemical attributes, nutrient balance and agroeconomic viability. The evaluated nutrients were: total nitrogen (N), available phosphorus (P) and potassium (K), calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg), pH, organic matter content, total organic carbon (TOC) and free light fraction (FLF), the dynamics of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, by glomalin and spore density, and flat circular paper chromatography. The nutrient partial balance was positive for all nutrients in the vegetable production area, due to plant biomass used, and was negative for N, K, Ca and Mg in the vegetable biomass production area. The levels of pH and P remained stable, whereas K, Ca, TOC, FLF and glomalin decrease over the years. The agroecosystem was financially viable on sale simulations to organic and institutional market (Fairs and PNAE). In chapter 2, fermented composts obtained from plant materials were characterized, by chemical composition, fermentation pathways and bacterial community, and evaluated the nitrogen availability and the agronomic efficiency in a leafy vegetable cultivation succession. The standard fermented compost consists of a mixture of wheat bran and castor bean meal. The plant substitute of wheat bran was the coffee husk, brewery residue, and elephant grass, and the substitute of castor bean meal was the gliricid meal. The pH had a correlation with lactic acid, ethanol and butyric acid was around 5.2 in the standard compost, and increased drastically with the complete replacement by coffee husk or elephant grass plus castor meal. The gliricid-meal maintained pH stable and decreased the levels of N. The composition of the bacterial community highlighted the difference between the composts with castor beans meal and gliricid, this latter with greater richness and diversity, thestandardcompost had less diversity. The Lactobacillales was predominant in all composts. The N availability of thestandardcompost was approximately 50%, as the composts with castor bean meal and brewery residue. Under field conditions, composts with gliricid meal resulted in lower productivities of arugula. The composts with coffee husk and castor bean meal were equivalent to the standard compost.

Submitted by Jorge Silva (jorgelmsilva@ufrrj.br) on 2023-08-28T18:27:19Z No. of bitstreams: 1 2019 - Livia Bischof Pian.pdf: 4140956 bytes, checksum: 2436b9e91d8bd6720fbd9d98a4635172 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2023-08-28T18:27:19Z (GMT). description With the development of agroecology, organic agriculture and the demand of organic food, questions are still open, concerning the agroecosystem production and intensification while maintaining economic, social, environmental and nutritional sustainability, especially in tropical regions.
