Resumo: The objective of the present research was to contribute to the developement of encephalic scintilography on dogs using intravenous administered radiotracer. The study was conducted by administratring 20 mCu/99mTc pertechnetate into the radial vein of 14 normal dogs; the tracer was detected externally on the encephalus using a computerized gamma camera. The static pictures were easily obtained in 4 standard positions and presents good informations about encephalic morphology. The average times between intravenous introduction of the radiotracer and its reaching the carotid arteries and encephalus were: right carotid artery -12.28 sec; left carotid artery - 12.42 sec; right cerebral hemisphere - 18.92 sec; left cerebral hemisphere - 20.21 sec. The mean peak of radiactive counts in right carotid artery was 67.50 poulses; in left carotid artery, was 57.57 poulses; in right cerebral hemisphere was 191.85 poulses; left cerebral hemisphere was 181.85 poulses. The average time between tracer administration and peak ocurrence was on the right carotid artery 32.71 sec; on the left carotid artery 32.64 sec; on the right cerebral hemisphere 36.50 sec; on the left cerebral hemisphere 37.07 sec. Because of its innocous and noninvasive nature, the fotocintilography can be used to evaluate patients suffering encephalic disturbances.

As imagens est?ticas foram facilmente obtidas em 4 posi??es padronizadas e ofereceram boas informa??es sobre a morfologia do enc?falo. Os tempos m?dios decorridos entre a introdu??o do tra?ador e a sua chegada ? car?tida e ao enc?falo, foram: car?tida direita -12,28 segundos; car?tida esquerda - 12,42 segundos; hemisf?rio cerebral direito - 18,92 segundos e hemisf?rio cerebral esquerdo - 20,21 segundos. O pique m?dio das contagens radioativas na car?tida direita foi de 67,50 impulsos; na car?tida esquerda foi de 57,57 impulsos; no hemisf?rio cerebral direito foi de 191,85 impulsos; e no hemisf?rio cerebral esquerdo foi de 181,85 impulsos.
