Resumo: In the literature, adolescence is seen as a sensitive period where critical judgment skills are impoverished and often result in impulsive acts such as substance abuse. In view of this scenario, the objective of this study was to enable the elaboration of an evaluation protocol focused on the identification of possible relationships between substance use and impulsivity constructs and the ability to control the behavior (inhibitory control) of adolescent drug users. Therefore, in study 1, a systematic literature review on this theme was performed based on the PRISMA guidelines protocol. The results of 34 articles selected from the SciELO, PsycINFO, PubMed and Lilacs databases were discussed. In 21 studies, detrimental effects of the interaction between substance use and adolescent impulsivity were found, showing that young people with greater substance involvement tended to have higher levels of impulsivity than those with less involvement. The study 2, in turn, had as methodological design the elaboration of a neuropsychological evaluation protocol to investigate these relationships. It used standardized instruments supported by the scientific literature of the area and tests approved by the Federal Council of Psychology, such as scales, inventories, formal batteries and questionnaires. They assessed socioeconomic, psychosocial, intelligence, psychopathology, impulsivity, inhibitory control, attention, and problematic use of alcohol and other drugs. The end result was intended to provide a neuropsychological profile that will allow the guidance of possible interventions on the most impaired domains and the best use of the potential of at-risk adolescents.

Submitted by Sandra Pereira (srpereira@ufrrj.br) on 2021-11-25T03:38:20Z No. of bitstreams: 1 2019 - Ma?ra Biajoni Guimar?es.pdf: 2200261 bytes, checksum: e99e41eea40616e138596f693f1c8ae0 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2021-11-25T03:38:20Z (GMT). description In the literature, adolescence is seen as a sensitive period where critical judgment skills are impoverished and often result in impulsive acts such as substance abuse.
