“O que vem do outro” : representações sociais de professores do ensino fundamental sobre violência

Resumo: The research consists of a study of the social representations of elementary school teachers of the municipal public education of the city of Aracaju and outskirts, in order to understand the meanings associated with violence and its deployment from their professional trajectories. The research problem was based on the social representations of teachers about violence. The research subjects are effective teachers of the municipal public education network of the city of Aracaju and outskirts, who teach elementary school, in the age group of 25 and 65 years old. The objectives that guided this research were: a) Identify the factors on which violence is based, b) Understand how violence is represented by elementary school teachers c) And verify the social conditions that allow the emergence of these categories. Violence is a usual issue and a growing phenomenon in the Brazilian scenario, having a multiple character and a plurality of manifestations. However, when linked to the image of the teachers, they are mostly placed in the role of victim, and this violence is always understood as violence perpetrated by the other. In this way, the relevance of having the teachers as subjects of research was seen, in order to know what meanings they attribute to the phenomenon of violence in a generalized way. The theoretical referential brings a discussion about violence, emphasizing violence in the Brazilian scenario. The methodology used in this study is supported by a qualitative approach and the instruments used for data collection are based on the application of in-depth interviews, of the semi-structured type, which allowed for a more spontaneous dialogue with teachers about the theme. The content of the interviews was listened and fully transcribed. For the purposes of analysis, content analysis was used as proposed by Bardin (1977) through the creation of thematic axes, so that these could achieve the objectives proposed for this study, being these analyzes carried out in the light of social representations as a proposal by Moscovici (2003).

O problema de pesquisa teve como base as representações sociais de professores sobre violência. Os sujeitos de pesquisa são professores e professoras efetivos da rede pública municipal de educação da cidade de Aracaju, de Nossa Senhora do Socorro e de São Cristóvão que lecionam ao ensino fundamental I e II, na faixa etária dos 25 e 65 anos. Os objetivos que nortearam tal pesquisa visaram: a) Identificar os fatores sobre os quais a violência está assentada; b) Compreender como a violência é representada pelos professores do ensino fundamental; c) E verificar quais as condições sociais que permitem a emergência dessas categorias. A violência é um assunto corriqueiro e fenômeno crescente no cenário brasileiro, possuindo um caráter múltiplo e uma pluralidade de manifestações, porém quando vinculada à imagem dos professores estes são colocados majoritariamente num papel de vítima, sendo esta violência sempre compreendida como uma violência exercida pelo outro. Desta forma, viu-se a relevância de ter os professores como sujeitos de pesquisa, para assim saber quais significados estes atribuem ao fenômeno da violência de um modo generalizado. O referencial teórico traz uma discussão acerca da violência, dando ênfase a violência no cenário brasileiro. A metodologia empregada neste estudo está amparada numa abordagem qualitativa e os instrumentos utilizados para coleta de dados fundamentam-se na observação e na aplicação de entrevistas em profundidade, do tipo semiestruturada, o que permitiu um diálogo mais espontâneo com os professores sobre o tema tratado. O conteúdo das entrevistas foi escutado e transcrito integralmente.
