Viabilidade técnica da utilização da silagem de erva-palha (blainvillea latifolia) para alimentação de ruminantes

Resumo: The aim of this work was to evaluate the technical feasibility of erva-palha (Blainvillea latifolia) biomass as an alternative roughage in the feeding of ruminants. For this purpose, there were measured the agronomic characteristics of the species. The bromatological characteristics of the raw material and the erva-palha silage submitted to pre-drying strategies (0, 24 and 48 hours) were analyzed and evaluated the apparent digestibility of diets containing different levels of substitution (0, 33 66 and 100%) of the bulky corn silage by erva-palha silage offered to sheep. Under the conditions of the present study, it was observed an average height of erva-palha plants of 1.72 meters, population of 458,000 plants per hectare and production of 6,800 kg/ha of dry matter being 1001 kg corresponding to crude protein. The fermentative characteristics varied according to the ensiling time, but there were no differences between the pre-drying treatments. In the evaluation of consumption and apparent digestibility, the treatments with 33 and 66% inclusion of erva-palha silage in the roughage fraction, had apparent digestibility of bromatological components similar to the treatment with corn silage as exclusive roughage. In view of the observed, the use of erva-palha biomass has the potential to integrate diets as part of the fraction of bulky food for ruminants.

Para tanto, foram mensuradas as características agronômicas da espécie, analisadas as características bromatológicas da matéria in natura e da silagem de ervapalha submetida a estratégias de pré-secagem e avaliada a digestibilidade aparente de dietas contendo diferentes níveis de substituição (0, 33, 66 e 100%) do volumoso, silagem de milho, por silagem de erva-palha ofertada para ovinos. Nas condições do presente estudo, foram observadas alturas médias de plantas da erva-palha de 1,72 metro, população de 458.000 plantas por hectare e produção de 6.800 kg de matéria seca, destes, 1001 kg correspondem à proteína bruta. Na dinâmica fermentativa da silagem de ervapalha, observou-se que mesmo ao submeter o material a 48 horas de pré-secagem, os componentes bromatológicos não apresentaram grandes variações. As características fermentativas variaram em função do tempo de ensilagem, porém não apresentaram diferenças entre os tratamentos de pré-secagem. Na avaliação do consumo e digestibilidade aparente, tratamentos com 33 e 66% de inclusão de silagem de erva-palha na fração de volumoso, tiveram digestibilidades aparentes de componentes bromatológicos similares ao tratamento com silagem de milho como volumoso exclusivo.
