Territorial identity is an area of geography characterized by the existence of symbols that give its support. These may be concrete or abstract, may be a street, a river, or permeated by the imagery of certain populations. From this assumption, pervades the concepts of territory, identity, everyday life and social representations, twisted, unveil the reality analyzed. So, the objective of the present study is to analyze the existence of identity territories at the Bugio neighborhood, whose implantation gives special characteristics: it was planned and deployed at the outskirts of Aracaju surrounded by canals and wetlands with only two access roads. This apparent "isolation" has made ask ourselves the mangroves as a symbol of neighborhood identity, and we enter in daily life and in the perception of its residents. The research revealed a local dynamic of spatial production through daily practices permeated by interactions among individuals at the same time standing in a global context of homogenizing tendencies exchange experiences around something familiar made in the social representations determining its conduct. The perception of the mangrove forest as the symbol was not detected and the residents are indifferent to its presence. Only among the fishermen, who derive part of their livelihood from the mangrove, is that there is a meaning of landscape in question.The analysis revealed the existence of territorial identity being the Catholic church as a symbol of greater expression, but for the presence of the others with territoriality, infer the existence of several identity territories denoting the multiple identities.
