Resumo: Tifton 85 bermudagrass have been widely used in tropical and subtropical regions. Due to its high forage yield, the fertility requirement of Tifton 85 is also high. The inoculation with Azospirillum brasilense is an alternative to reduce nitrogen fertilizers and costs, consequently. However, the effects of inoculation in tropical grasses are still little knew. The aim of this study was to evaluate the productivity, pasture characteristics and chemical composition of Tifton 85 bermudagrass, inoculated with Azospirillum brasilense and associated to nitogen fertilizer. The study evaluated four nitrogen levels (0, 100, 200 and 300 kg ha-1), inoculated or not, under cutting conditions. The experimental design was completely randomized, in a factorial arrangement, with two qualitative levels (inoculated with Azospirillum brasilense or uninoculated) and four quantitative (nitrogen doses), with three replications (plots). Botanical and morphological composition, leaf/steam ratio, chemical composition and forage yield were evaluated. Inoculation raised the herbage yield in all pastures, but did not affect the chemical composition of forage. Increasing nitrogen fertilizers is associated with herbage yield and crude protein concentration. Neutral detergent fibers and total digestible nutrients were not affected by inoculation or nitrogen fertilization.

Devido à alta produção de forragem dessa gramínea, torna-se exigente em fertilidade. A inoculação com Azospirillum brasilense é uma alternativa para reduzir os fertilizantes nitrogenados e os custos, consequentemente. No entanto, os efeitos da inoculação em gramíneas tropicais ainda são pouco conhecidos. Objetivou-se nesse estudo, avaliar a produtividade, características da pastagem e a composição química de forragem de capim Tifton 85, inoculada com Azospirillum brasilense e associada a diferentes níveis de adubo nitrogenado. No estudo foram avaliados 4 níveis de nitrogênio (0, 100, 200 e 300 kg ha-1), submetidos ou não à inoculação, sob condições de corte. O experimento foi conduzido no período de agosto de 2017 a maio de 2018. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado, em arranjo fatorial, com dois níveis qualitativos (inoculado com Azospirillum brasilense ou não inoculado) e quatro quantitativos (doses de nitrogênio), com três repetições (parcelas). Avaliou-se a composição botânica e morfológica, relação folha/colmo, produção de forragem e composição química. A inoculação elevou a produção de forragem em todas as pastagens, mas não afetou a composição química da forragem. O aumento do fertilizante nitrogenado está associado ao aumento da produção de forragem e da concentração de proteína bruta.
