Resumo: | The European immigration to the south of Brazil became one of the main migratory flows in the colonization process as well as in the agricultural development aimed by the Brazilian state. Considering this migratory flow, the Polish immigration was important to Rio Grande do Sul and, primarily, as the main focus in this study, the colonization of Áurea, starting in 1911. This research aims at analyzing and showing the main cultural codes inherited by the immigrants‟ descendants that survive as a living part of the Polish tradition memory. The main purpose is to discuss the importance of this migratory process to the cultural elements which appear in the routine of these Polish descendants who currently live in Áurea. Besides this, the study involves: a) examining the process of desterritorialization and reterritorialization by the Polish immigrants in Rio Grande do Sul; b) evaluating the relevance of these Polish immigrants to the development of Áurea/RS; c) identifying and describing the Polish cultural codes and their representations in the city according to the Polish identity. Methodologically, field research as well as documental and observatory analysis were used, combined with the exploratory research based on the examination of pre-determined sources, such as bibliography data, interviews with people who have had practical experiences with the research problem and the analysis of examples to stimulate the comprehension. Then, the following cultural codes were analyzed: religion, language and dialect, arts, dance, music, cuisine, architecture and costume. It was possible to observe that for decades and since the new generations, after more than one century of colonization, most of these codes are still alive in the traditions and the descendants‟ daily habits, their religious ceremonies, the dialect and the cuisine. However, the process of new culture assimilation in Brazil has become more latent and it is replacing the tradition which survived and has been surviving among the generations closer to the immigrants. Finally, the valorization and the perpetuation of the immigrants‟ heritage and memories have been kept, from generation to generation, and this process is crucial to avoid neither losing nor forgetting the history of Áurea. |

Neste fluxo migratório, destaca-se o papel da imigração polonesa para o Rio Grande do Sul. A presente pesquisa tem como foco a colonização e povoamento do município de Áurea, a partir do ano de 1911. Este trabalho tem como finalidade a análise e apontamento dos principais códigos culturais herdados pelos descendentes destes imigrantes que resistem ao tempo e são uma parte viva da memória e das tradições polonesas. Como objetivo geral, busca-se analisar e discutir a importância deste processo migratório nos códigos culturais que se imprimem no cotidiano dos descendentes poloneses que residem no município atualmente. Como objetivos específicos, busca-se: a) analisar o processo de desterritorialização e reterritorialização dos imigrantes poloneses no Rio Grande do Sul; b) apontar a importância da presença dos imigrantes poloneses no processo de desenvolvimento de Áurea/RS; e c) identificar e caracterizar os códigos culturais poloneses e suas representações no município, através da identidade polonesa que se imprime. Metodologicamente, utilizaram-se procedimentos de pesquisa de campo, pesquisa documental e de observação, utilizando-se da pesquisa exploratória, a partir da análise de fontes pré-determinadas, tais como levantamento bibliográfico, entrevistas com pessoas que tiveram experiências práticas com o problema pesquisado e análise de exemplos para estimular a compreensão. Desta forma, analisaram-se os seguintes códigos culturais: religião, língua e dialeto, arte, danças, música, culinária, arquitetura e vestimentas típicas. Observou-se que, após mais de um século de colonização, muitos destes códigos ainda se mantêm vivos nas tradições e no cotidiano dos descendentes, expressos principalmente nos ritos religiosos, no dialeto e na culinária. Porém, observa-se que o processo de assimilação de novas culturas, impressas na cultura brasileira, vem se tornando cada vez mais latente e vem substituindo tradições que sobreviveram e ainda sobrevivem nas gerações mais próximas dos imigrantes. Assim, o processo de valorização e perpetuação das heranças e memórias dos imigrantes passa, de geração para geração, como uma tarefa que é de suma importância para que a história do município de Áurea não seja esquecida.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Naturais e ExatasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em GeografiaUFSMBrasilGeografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessÁureaCódigos culturaisCulturaTerritórioPolonidadeÁureaCultural codesCultureTerritoryPolish identityCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::GEOGRAFIACultura e território da imigração polonesa no município de Áurea/RSThe culture and territory of polish immigration in Áurea/RSinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisCardoso, Eduardo Schiavonehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6467146489705005Alves, Vicente Eudes Lemoshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0054550625043452Bezzi, Meri Lourdeshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2051877280467001http://lattes.cnpq.br/2945799736556025Socoloski, Thaimon da Silva1007000000056004574a87a-7598-452a-9599-39ebb479a1b188eb7ccd-8831-4655-850b-98928af6fcd6f62f9a4c-ed0b-449f-914d-60ce7d679ac857d58693-92b8-44ae-a625-cc126916758areponame:Manancial - Repositório Digital da UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGGEOGRAFIA_2018_SOCOLOSKI_THAIMON.pdfDIS_PPGGEOGRAFIA_2018_SOCOLOSKI_THAIMON.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf2466828http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/14853/1/DIS_PPGGEOGRAFIA_2018_SOCOLOSKI_THAIMON.pdfcbed0daa422503c9c38e70e8e05d0dcaMD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
