Resumo: In the face of the present environmental crisis, on a global, regional and local scale, uncertainties are created regarding the activities of natural processes in their anthropogenic stage, which affect different social strata of the population. In view of this, the insertion of the themes related to the urbanization process and the formation of risk areas becomes pertinent to understand the stages of the formation of the social fabric, superimposed on the physical-natural components. In this context, the main objective of the research is to identify and analyze the constitution of flood risk areas, focusing on the Suzana and Henrique river basins, located in the urban area of Erechim, State of Rio Grande do Sul. South. To carry out the analysis, we sought to understand the concept of risk and its categories: susceptibility, danger and vulnerability. In addition, we sought to understand the effects of the urbanization process that alter river regimes. The methodological procedures are based on bibliographical research and on stages carried out in the laboratory and in the field. The laboratory analysis carried out in a GIS environment sought to verify the physicalnatural components in order to identify the susceptible and dangerous areas. Field verification corresponds to vulnerability analyzes, where the typology of households is verified, based on the cadastre. In order to arrive at the risk analysis, a cross-check was made between danger and vulnerability. Finally, it was possible with this research to understand, identify and classify different levels of risk ranging from very high, high, medium and low. It was possible to identify 68 households identified in the Henrique river basin and 54 households in the Suzana river basin. In the Henrique river basin, the highest percentages of households fall on the High Risk. It was verified that in the Suzana river basin the highest percentages of households are on High Risk. Therefore, urbanization in these areas did not follow adequate planning, as it exposes the population to risk. Due to the lack of urban planning occurred the occupation of floodplain areas and as well as the construction in floodplain and river terraces, thus providing for the emergence of flood risk areas.

Due to the lack of urban planning occurred the occupation of floodplain areas and as well as the construction in floodplain and river terraces, thus providing for the emergence of flood risk areas.Diante da crise ambiental evidenciada na atualidade, em escala global, regional e local, criam-se incertezas em relação às atividades dos processos naturais em seu estágio antropogênico, os quais atingem diferentes camadas sociais da população. Em vista disso, a inserção das temáticas relacionadas ao processo de urbanização e a formação de áreas de riscos torna-se pertinente para entender os estágios da formação do tecido social, sobreposto aos componentes físico-naturais. Dentro deste contexto, o objetivo principal da pesquisa busca identificar e analisar a constituição das áreas de risco de inundação, direcionando-se para o estudo das bacias dos rios Suzana e Henrique, que se localizam na área urbana de Erechim, Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Para realizar a análise buscou-se a compreensão do conceito de risco e suas categorias: suscetibilidade, perigo e vulnerabilidade. Além disso, procurou-se compreender os efeitos do processo de urbanização que alteram os regimes fluviais. Os procedimentos metodológicos baseiam-se em pesquisas bibliográficas e em etapas realizadas em laboratório e em campo. A análise laboratorial realizada em ambiente SIG buscou a verificação dos componentes físico-naturais procurando identificar as áreas suscetíveis e de perigo. A verificação em campo corresponde a análises da vulnerabilidade, onde se verifica a tipologia dos domicílios, a partir de cadastro. Para chegar na análise do risco realizou-se o cruzamento entre o perigo e a vulnerabilidade. Por fim, foi possível com essa pesquisa entender, identificar e classificar diferentes níveis de risco que variam entre muito alto, alto, médio e baixo. Foi possível identificar 68 domicílios identificadas na bacia do rio Henrique e 54 domicílios na bacia hidrográfica do rio Suzana. Na bacia do rio Henrique as maiores porcentagens de domicílios recaem sobre o Risco Alto. Verificou-se que na bacia do rio Suzana as maiores porcentagens dos domicílios encontram-se sobre Risco Alto. Portanto verifica-se que a urbanização nessas áreas não seguiu um planejamento adequado, visto que expõe a população ao risco. Devido a falta de planejamento urbano ocorreu a ocupação de áreas de planície de inundação e assim como a construção em áreas de banhado e de terraços fluviais, assim proporcionando o surgimento de áreas de risco de inundação.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Naturais e ExatasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em GeografiaUFSMBrasilGeografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessUrbanizaçãoInundaçãoÁrea de riscoBacia hidrográficaUrbanizationInundationRisk areaBasinCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::GEOGRAFIARisco de inundação nas bacias hidrográficas dos rios Henrique e Suzana na área urbana de Erechim, Rio Grande do Sul, BrasilRisk of flooding in the urban area of Erechim - RSinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisTrentin, Romariohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2287005710639329Robaina, Luís Eduardo de Souzahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6075564636607843Cristo, Sandro Sidnei Vargas dehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6004596653256447http://lattes.cnpq.br/2711404267338174Furlan, André Ricardo700600000007600a3a4e2ff-49c2-4c2a-b602-d4d971303aee08f64631-71dd-467f-a797-c68008b6e2d71790d81a-6ccd-41c0-add6-36a923562743c215cde3-0d32-4937-a047-ffa55f6878a5reponame:Manancial - Repositório Digital da UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGGG_2019_FURLAN_ANDRE.pdfDIS_PPGGG_2019_FURLAN_ANDRE.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf15495279http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/16093/1/DIS_PPGGG_2019_FURLAN_ANDRE.pdfbab9bd3e01fcf1e9375a90340dc748a7MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
