Resumo: The dissertation entitled "Mediation of Information Technologies and Communication in the Context of School", comes from the mediation of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the development of school management in order to verify ownership of the same by the school management so as to provide jobs and a participatory approach by the school community. The research problem can be identified by the question: How can ICT mediation contribute to the democratization of school management in the context of two state public high schools in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, considering public educational policies? This problem leads to this work's objective which is to identify whether the mediation of ICTs can contribute to the democratization of school management, considering the existence of resources in schools to make this happen. The two schools were researched within the context of public schools in Santa Maria, with the the focus of attention being on high school. This research, therefore, results from Public Policy Related Technologies in the sense that when inserted in the school, they provide new forms of communication between individuals belonging to the two surveyed schools, while also favoring exchange of management practices in the administrative aspects of pedadgogal teaching. The research is classified as a qualitative case study, in which the research instruments used were questionnaires and participant observation. The research is relevant because of the need and urgency of the subject Information Technology and Communication in school management, so that educators can understand and reflect the changes that are still occurring and still occur in the workfield and that are spread throughout education. From the survey we observed little knowledge of ICTs by teachers as a result of low utilization of the same in school management.

From the survey we observed little knowledge of ICTs by teachers as a result of low utilization of the same in school management.A dissertação intitulada A Mediação das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação no Contexto Escolar , trata da mediação das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TICs) no desenvolvimento da gestão em âmbito escolar no sentido de verificar a apropriação das mesmas pela gestão das escolas de modo a propiciar trabalhos participativos e aproximação do coletivo escolar. O problema de pesquisa pode ser identificado pelo questionamento: como a mediação das TICs pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento da democratização da gestão escolar no contexto do ensino médio de duas escolas públicas estaduais do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, na cidade de Santa Maria, considerando as políticas públicas educacionais? Este problema leva ao objetivo deste trabalho que é identificar se a mediação das TICs pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento da democratização da gestão escolar, considerando a existência de recursos nas escolas para que tal aconteça. O contexto pesquisado foram duas escolas da rede pública estadual de Santa Maria, tendo no ensino médio o foco de atenção. Esta pesquisa, portanto, resulta das Políticas Públicas relacionadas às Tecnologias quando inseridas na escola no sentido de proporcionar novas formas de comunicação entre os sujeitos pertencentes às duas escolas pesquisadas, favorecendo, desta forma, um maior intercâmbio nas práticas de gestão em seus aspectos administrativo-pedagógicos. A pesquisa é classificada como um Estudo de Caso de caráter qualitativo, em que os instrumentos de pesquisa utilizados foram questionários e observação participante. A pesquisa é relevante devido a necessidade e urgência do tema Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação no âmbito da gestão escolar, para que assim educadores possam compreender e refletir as transformações que ocorreram e ainda ocorrem no campo do trabalho e que perpassam a educação.
