Resumo: | Metabolic Syndrome (MS) has a worldwide prevalence and studies have shown that there is a direct relationship with the increase of obesity, sedentary behavior, changes in eating habits and lifestyle. Treatment includes regular physical exercises, such as Functional Training (FT), which can attenuate / ameliorate the physiological changes due to MS and that accentuate after middle age, especially in women. Thus, the objective of the present study was to investigate the effects of a FT program on middle-aged women with MS. This research was characterized as quantitative, descriptive and experimental type. The first manuscript aimed to investigate the effects of a FT program on biochemical and morphological variables of middle-aged women with MS. In this first study, the sample consisted of 30 middle-aged women with MS divided into Control Group (n = 15) and Training Group (n = 15). The second manuscript aimed to investigate the effects of a FT program on hemodynamic, hepatic and renal variables in middleaged women with MS. The sample was composed of 17 middle-aged women. Both had as inclusion criteria, age over 40 years present a medical statement and have MS diagnosis. The intervention was based on the CORE 360 ° FT method, which was performed three times a week, with sessions of 60 minutes, during 14 weeks. Morphological, biochemical, hemodynamic and functional variables were evaluated at the beginning (week zero) and at the end (week fourteen) of the training period. Data were expressed as mean ± standard deviation (SD). The Shapiro-Wilk test was used to evaluate the normality of the variables, the Student t test for parametric data and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test for non-parametric data. Also, the SPSS 15.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences, Chicago, USA) was used and the statistical significance was set at p <0.05. The FT caused slight improvements on morphological variables, such as preservation of lean mass and bone mineral content, as well as small decreases in body fat indicators. There were small positive changes on glucose, insulin and Total Cholesterol, and there were no significant results on the biochemical variables indicative of hepatic and renal diseases. Furthermore, FT implied statistically significant improvements in diastolic blood pressure (DBP) in middle-aged women with MS and small improvements in HR and VO2max. It is concluded that FT is a good tool for the control and treatment of MS in middle-aged women, since it significantly reduced DBP, improved glycemic and lipid markers, and generated positive changes on morphological variables, |

O tratamento inclui exercícios físicos regulares, destacando-se, neste estudo, o Treinamento Funcional (TF), que pode atenuar/melhorar as alterações fisiológicas decorrentes da SM e que se acentuam após a meia-idade, principalmente em mulheres. Sendo assim, o objetivo do presente estudo foi investigar os efeitos de um programa de TF em mulheres de meia-idade com SM. Esta pesquisa caracterizou-se como quantitativa do tipo descritiva e experimental. O primeiro manuscrito objetivou investigar os efeitos de um programa de treinamento funcional sobre variáveis bioquímicas e morfológicas de mulheres de meia-idade com SM. Neste, a amostra foi composta por 30 mulheres de meia-idade com SM divididas em Grupo Controle (n=15) e Grupo de Treino (n=15). O segundo manuscrito teve como objetivo investigar os efeitos de um programa de treinamento funcional sobre variáveis hemodinâmicas, hepáticas e renais em mulheres de meia-idade com SM. A amostra deste, foi composta por 17 mulheres de meia-idade. Ambos tiveram como critérios de inclusão, ter mais de 40 anos de idade, apresentar laudo médico e possuir diagnóstico de SM. A intervenção foi embasada pelo método CORE 360° de TF, sendo que a mesma ocorreu três vezes por semana, com sessões de 60 minutos, durante 14 semanas. Foram avaliadas variáveis morfológicas, bioquímicas, hemodinâmicas e funcionais, no início (semana zero) e no final (semana quatorze) do período de treinamento. Os dados foram expressos como média ± desvio padrão (SD). Foram utilizados os testes de Shapiro-Wilk para avaliar a normalidade das variáveis, o Teste t de Student para dados paramétricos e Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test para dados não paramétricos. Ainda, foi utilizado o programa SPSS 15.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences, Chicago, EUA) e a significância estatística foi fixada em p <0,05. O TF ocasionou discretas melhoras sobre as variáveis morfológicas, como preservação de Massa Magra e Conteúdo Mineral Ósseo (CMO), assim como, pequenas diminuições em indicadores de gordura corporal. O mesmo ocasionou singelas mudanças positivas sobre glicose, insulina e Colesterol Total (CT), não havendo resultados significativos sobre as variáveis bioquímicas indicadoras de doenças hepáticas e renais. Ainda, o TF implicou em melhoras estatisticamente significativas sobre a Pressão Arterial Diastólica (PAD) de mulheres de meia-idade com SM e pequenas melhoras em FC e VO2max. Conclui-se que o TF é uma ótima ferramenta de controle e tratamento da SM em mulheres na meia-idade, uma vez que reduziu significativamente a PAD, melhorou discretamente marcadores glicêmicos e lipídicos e gerou mudanças positivas sobre variáveis morfológicas.porUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Educação Física e DesportosPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Educação FísicaUFSMBrasilEducação FísicaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSíndrome metabólicaMulheresTreinamento funcionalMetabolic syndromeWomenFunctional trainingCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::EDUCACAO FISICAEfeitos de um programa de treinamento funcional core 360º® em mulheres de meia-idade com síndrome metabólicaEffects of a core 360º® functional training program in middle aged women with metabolic syndromeinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisSantos, Daniela Lopes doshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/0357112600823721Azambuja, Cati Reckelberghttp://lattes.cnpq.br/4797871208442100De Sá, Clodoaldo Antôniohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/1097555555213809http://lattes.cnpq.br/5044756114047057Berté, Jéssica Karine4009000000026008366c1d7-41e9-4dc2-8c58-febe7aaf581543b85351-acaa-45ab-8f39-289a687d43c4e7f7f930-bed2-42b5-8822-768a825fd413285f602b-1916-4cae-ad9c-e0bb54740c37reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGEF_2018_BERTE_JESSICA.pdfDIS_PPGEF_2018_BERTE_JESSICA.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf2033972http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/14941/1/DIS_PPGEF_2018_BERTE_JESSICA.pdf190e50ed4fc1d94f86f5d0b4d7a840c8MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
