Resumo: This dissertation has as its main theme rural entrepreneurship. The general objective was to analyze the perspectives and identify the entrepreneurial intentions of the young academic students of the agrarian sciences courses, therefore correlated with the agribusiness. The sample comprised 659 academics from agronomy, forestry engineering, food engineering and technology and agribusiness courses from nine campuses belonging to two federal universities, two private universities and two federal institutes of education located in the northwestern region of Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. The field research was conducted between April and June 2019 using a Likert scale form with 41 affirmative variables constructed from five dimensions: way of life; knowledge; rural entrepreneurship; motivations for entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial behaviors. From a factorial and cluster analysis four clusters with distinct characteristics were identified: the agro-entrepreneurs; potential agro-entrepreneurs; possible agro-entrepreneurs and non-agro-entrepreneurs. The results showed a high degree of enchantment with the rural way of life and great propensity for rural entrepreneurship because of the good entrepreneurial profile of agribusiness youth.

O objetivo geral consistiu em analisar as perspectivas e identificar as intenções empreendedoras dos jovens estudantes acadêmicos dos cursos da área de conhecimento das ciências agrárias, portanto correlatas aos agronegócios. A amostra englobou 659 acadêmicos dos cursos de agronomia, engenharia florestal, engenharia e tecnologia de alimentos e agronegócios de nove campus pertencentes a duas universidades federais, duas universidades privadas e dois institutos federais de educação localizados na região noroeste do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada entre os meses de Abril e Junho de 2019 através de um formulário, em escala Likert com 41 variáveis afirmativas construídas a partir de cinco dimensões: modo de vida; conhecimentos; empreendedorismo rural; motivações para empreender e comportamentos empreendedores. A partir de uma análise fatorial e de clusters foram identificados quatro agrupamentos com características distintas: os agroempreendedores; os potenciais agroempreendedores; os possíveis agroempreendedores e os não agroempreendedores.
