Resumo: The research presents, as a theme, the action of the Catholic layman on the internet in the context of the mediatization of religion. The problematization constructs itself in the consideration of the insertion of the layman in the dynamics of the production and consumption of religious content on the internet and its impact on the religious experience of the subject. Thus, the problem question that guides the research is: how are the dynamics of production and consumption of religious content on the internet experienced by lay Catholics? To this end, the analysis arises from the blog The Catechist, a project created and maintained by lay people to deal with doctrinal issues and to approach current issues from a Catholic perspective. The study constructs itself as an analysis of ethnographic inspiration that is based on the methodological assumptions of the ethnography of the internet by Hine (2015) and that relied on the participation of eight privileged informants, namely the couple of bloggers responsible for The Catechist and six of its readers. The fieldwork was carried out through the observation of online participants on the blog and on the Catechist’s Facebook page, e-mail exchanges, conversations via chat applications, telephone interviews and two face-to-face visits with the bloggers. The interaction with the bloggers extended tor almost four years, from May 2014 to January 2018 and the contact with the readers was carried out from September 2017 to February 2018. The results point to the link between online and offline contexts, confirming the alignment of The Catechist's project with the idea of mediatic Catholicism (CARRANZA, 2011) that is characterized by a project of Catholic reinstitutionalization carried out by the media, which is characterized by a project of Catholic reinstitutionalization made effective by the media, moral and doctrinal conservatism and by the opposition to movements and ideas considered marxist / socialist / communist. The action of the bloggers, despite the freedom of initiative, to be firm in the idea of fidelity to the positions of the Church is taken as an unofficial protagonism. The constant need to renew their adherence to the institution is understood as a "tactical fidelity". The internet idea of the laity suggests that the catholic experience of the internet can be characterized by the experience of reaffirmation of the catholicity of the layman. According to the experience of internet readers, the reaffirmation of the Church's adherence is based on disputes of authority, morality and activism carried out through the dynamics of production and the consumption of religious content.

A problematização se constrói na tentativa de pensar a inserção do leigo nas dinâmicas de produção e consumo de conteúdo religioso na internet e seus desdobramentos para a experiência religiosa do sujeito. Dessa forma, a pergunta-problema que guia a pesquisa é a seguinte: como as dinâmicas de produção e consumo de conteúdo religioso na internet se constituem em experiência vivida por leigos católicos? Para tanto, a análise parte do blog O Catequista, projeto criado e mantido por leigos para tratar de assuntos doutrinários e abordar temas atuais a partir de uma visada católica. O estudo se constrói como uma análise de inspiração etnográfica que se baseia nos pressupostos metodológicos da etnografia para internet de Hine (2015) e que contou com a participação de oito informantes privilegiados, a saber, o casal de blogueiros responsáveis por O Catequista e seis de seus leitores. O trabalho de campo foi realizado a partir da observação participante on-line no blog e na página de O Catequista no Facebook, de troca de e-mails, conversas por meio de aplicativos de bate-papo, entrevistas por telefone e duas visitas presenciais aos blogueiros. A convivência com os blogueiros estendeu-se por quase quatro anos, de maio de 2014 a janeiro de 2018 e o contato com os leitores ocorreu no período de setembro de 2017 a fevereiro de 2018. Os resultados apontam para a articulação de contextos on-line e off-line que confirmam o alinhamento do projeto de O Catequista com a ideia de catolicismo midiático (CARRANZA, 2011) que se caracteriza por um projeto de reinstitucionalização católica efetivado pela atuação na mídia, pelo conservadorismo moral e doutrinário e pela oposição aos movimentos e ideias consideradas marxistas/socialistas/comunistas. A atuação dos blogueiros, apesar da liberdade de iniciativa, ao se firmar na ideia de fidelidade aos posicionamentos da Igreja é tomada como um protagonismo oficioso. A constante necessidade de renovar sua adesão a instituição é entendida como uma “fidelidade tática”. Já a ideia da internet dos leigos sugere que a vivência católica da internet pode ser caracterizada pela experiência de reafirmação da catolicidade do leigo. Na experiência vivida pelos leitores na internet, a reafirmação da adesão a Igreja se dá a partir disputas de autoridade, moralidade e ativismo realizadas por meio de dinâmicas de produção e consumo de conteúdo religioso.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Sociais e HumanasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em ComunicaçãoUFSMBrasilComunicaçãoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessCatolicismo midiáticoMidiatização da religiãoConsumoEtnografia para internetMedia catholicismMediatization of religionConsumptionEthnography for the internetCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::COMUNICACAOA internet dos leigos: catolicismo midiático e práticas de consumo como experiência vividaThe internet of the laity: media catholicism and consumption practices as lived experienceinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisSilva, Sandra Rubia dahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7169496368084935Patriota, Karla Regina Macena Pereirahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3518204311819015Ferreira, Jairo Getuliohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8243334414084240Leitão, Debora Krischkehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/1094970087162112Dalmolin, Aline Roeshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7869463407801702http://lattes.cnpq.br/2917415533024341Rosa, Ana Cássia Pandolfo Flores da600900000008600c1215381-2b8d-4582-be3b-dbd769042b5458cbd58b-65c2-4b5d-ae47-eae182fcb975e38cdb1b-758f-435a-98f3-0bfa68b2064afdae8845-a081-4201-a167-68a34076c735e24fc477-840a-470b-8c25-6dfb6cd72ef118b6fd93-289c-4ec6-b806-c5b20f679cf7reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALTES_PPGCOMUNICACAO_2018_ROSA_ANA.pdfTES_PPGCOMUNICACAO_2018_ROSA_ANA.pdfTese de Doutoradoapplication/pdf1879497http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/15127/1/TES_PPGCOMUNICACAO_2018_ROSA_ANA.pdf097caad89158e426bfaaab69aba7d8c4MD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
