Diferentes formas de violência no contexto universitário: experiências e representações da comunidade acadêmica

Resumo: The violence present in different social spaces has been a topic of discussion and debate over the past few years. In this dissertation, we had as a central theme the violence that happens in the college context, which mainly affects women. We aim to know the experiences of the academic community about the violence present in the university space. Furthermore, we seek to analyze the actions taken by the Federal University of Santa Maria to combat violence and to map the types of violence prevalent in the context of the Federal University of Santa Maria and how they are recognized. The first study that makes up this dissertation was carried out based on an integrative review of scientific articles that sought to understand the actions taken by universities in Latin America to confront violence. In general, we realized that studies on the topic can be considered recent, since most of the articles were published in 2019 and, still, publications in Mexico and Colombia predominated. Universities have created protocols, but there is still an institutional silence in the face of cases. We observe that the mobilization of women in universities has promoted transformations. The second study is a qualitative research, using semi-structured interviews and the Free Word Association Technique (TALP) as tools for building information. Fifteen people from the academic community of the Federal University of Santa Maria were interviewed, resulting in a study that articulated the reports with the Theory of Social Representations. We show that violence has been anchored in physical aggression, although there are transformations in representations about this theme based on the participants' personal and professional experiences. We can see that even though violence is part of the history of institutions, currently, we can talk more about it. We are not yet at the level of acting more, but being able to speak, discuss, debate on the subject can already be a first step towards the beginning of an institutional and social transformation. The institution studied has been promoting actions to tackle violence, but there is still no flow of monitoring cases, with a certain individualization of the understanding of violence. We conclude that the path to be followed for a better confrontation of violence in this educational context is still long, because although there are changes in progress, there is still much to be done.

Nesta dissertação, tivemos como tema central as violências que acontecem no contexto universitário, que afetam sobretudo as mulheres. Objetivamos conhecer as experiências da comunidade acadêmica acerca das violências presentes no espaço universitário. Ainda, buscamos analisar as ações realizadas pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria para combater as violências e mapear os tipos de violências predominantes no contexto da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria e como elas são reconhecidas. O primeiro estudo que compõe esta dissertação foi realizado a partir de uma revisão integrativa de artigos científicos que buscou compreender as ações realizadas por universidades da América Latina no enfrentamento às violências. De modo geral, percebemos que os estudos sobre o tema podem ser considerados recentes, uma vez que a maior parte dos artigos foi publicada em 2019 e, ainda, predominaram publicações realizadas no México e na Colômbia. As universidades têm criado protocolos, mas ainda persiste um silenciamento institucional diante dos casos. Observamos que a mobilização das mulheres nas universidades tem promovido transformações. O segundo estudo trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, utilizando como instrumentos para construção das informações entrevistas semiestruturadas e a Técnica de Associação Livre de Palavras (TALP). Quinze pessoas da comunidade acadêmica da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria foram entrevistadas, resultando em um estudo que articulou os relatos com a Teoria das Representações Sociais. Evidenciamos que a violência tem sido ancorada na agressão física, embora haja transformações nas representações acerca desta temática a partir das experiências pessoais e profissionais dos participantes. Podemos constatar que por mais que a violência faça parte da história das instituições, atualmente, podemos falar mais sobre ela. Ainda não estamos no patamar de agir mais, mas poder falar, discutir, debater sobre o assunto já pode ser um primeiro passo para o início de uma transformação institucional e social. A instituição estudada vem promovendo ações para enfrentar a violência, porém ainda não se tem um fluxo de acompanhamento dos casos, havendo uma certa individualização do entendimento da violência.
