Resumo: | In recent decades, significant changes have driven the advancement of agricultural production systems in Brazil. The cultivation of grains, mainly rice and soybeans, replaced areas of natural pasture. Livestock is an important factor in the balance of biogeochemical cycles, and biodiversity. In this perspective, in order to preserve these areas, in the midst of the growth of agricultural production, Environmental Protection Areas (APAs) were delimited, with the objective of reconciling preservation with sustainable exploitation of production systems. In this way, the objective was to analyze how the transformations arising from the change in land use in the territory of the Ibirapuitã APA conservation unit and their influence on the economic and biological flows of the livestock production system over time. Methodologically, the approach is considered mixed, based on quantitative and qualitative techniques, consisting of a case study. To this end, we built two methodological stages. In stage A, we built a database with macroeconomic and agricultural production variables from the four municipalities that make up the APA of Ibirapuitã, including remote sensing images to assess the change in land use between 2000 and 2020. In addition, regression models were used. used to determine trends in agricultural production growth and analyze the impact of land use change on the economic dynamics of the territory. In stage B, we propose a methodological sequence to identify how the land use change scenario altered the economic flows of financial inputs and outputs, as well as the inputs and outputs of nitrogen in a livestock production system in the Environmental Protection Area between 2010 and 2020. Flowcharts and indicators were designed to assess flows over time. Based on economic and nitrogen fluxes, we propose indicators of Territorial Bioeconomic Metabolism for the livestock production system. The methodological proposal of stage A and B was complemented by semi-structured interviews. The results indicated a change in land use in the APA, resulting from the transformation of natural pastures into grain production systems. Production based on economic efficiency is one of the main drivers of land use change. The establishment of pasture areas is not related to the size of the herds, but to the intensification of production aiming at profitability. The Bioeconomic Territorial Metabolism made it possible to carry out a multi-indicator study of livestock systems and contribute with opportunities for theoretical- methodological intervention linked to rural extension. The APA was essential to guarantee the sustainable use of the territory. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a representative public policy for the Pampa biome that offers incentives and encourages the conservation of ecosystem services in agricultural exploitation. |

O cultivo de grãos, principalmente de arroz e soja, substituiu áreas de pastagem natural. A pecuária é um fator importante no equilíbrio de ciclos biogeoquímicos, e biodiversidade. Nesta perspectiva, para preservar essas áreas, em meio ao crescimento da produção agrícola, foram delimitadas as Áreas de Proteção Ambiental (APAs) que tem o objetivo de conciliar preservação com uma exploração sustentável de sistemas de produção. Desse modo, objetivou-se analisar como as transformações oriundas da mudança no uso da terra do território da unidade de conservação APA do Ibirapuitã e sua influência nos fluxos econômicos e biológicos do sistema de produção pecuário ao longo do tempo. Metodologicamente, a abordagem é considerada mista, a partir de técnicas quantitativas e qualitativas, consistindo em um estudo de caso. Para tanto, construímos dois estágios metodológicos . No estágio A construímos um banco de dados com variáveis macroeconômicas e de produção agrícola dos quatro municípios que compõem a APA do Ibirapuitã, incluindo imagens de sensoriamento remoto para avaliar a mudança no uso da terra entre 2000 e 2020. Além disso, modelos de regressão foram utilizados para determinar as tendências de crescimento da produção agrícola e analisar o impacto da mudança do uso da terra na dinâmica econômica do território. No estágio B, propomos uma sequência metodológica para identificar como o cenário de mudança do uso da terra alterou os fluxos econômicos de entradas e saídas financeiras, bem como, os inputs e outputs de nitrogênio de um sistema produtivo pecuário da Área de Proteção Ambiental entre 2010 e 2020. Fluxogramas e indicadores foram elaborados para avaliar os fluxos ao longo do tempo. Com base nos fluxos econômicos e de nitrogênio propomos indicadores de Metabolismo Territorial Bioeconômico para o sistema de produção pecuário. A proposta metodológica do estágio A e B foi complementada por entrevistas semiestruturadas. Os resultados indicaram uma mudança no uso da terra na APA, resultante da transformação de pastagens naturais em sistemas de produção de grãos. A produção baseada na eficiência econômica é um dos principais fatores de mudança no uso da terra. O estabelecimento de áreas de pastagem não está relacionado com o tamanho dos rebanhos, e sim com a intensificação da produção visando a lucratividade. O Metabolismo Territorial Bioeconômico permitiu realizar um estudo multi indicador dos sistemas de pecuária e contribuir com oportunidades de intervenção teórico- metodológica vinculada a extensão rural. A APA foi essencial para garantir o uso sustentável do território. Portanto, é necessário desenvolver uma política pública representativa para o bioma Pampa que ofereça incentivos e estimule a conservação dos serviços ecossistêmicos na exploração agropecuária.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESConselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico - CNPqporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências RuraisPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Extensão RuralUFSMBrasilExtensão Rural e DesenvolvimentoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessProdução agropecuáriaRenda agrícolaUso da terraMetabolismo territorialBioeconomiaAgricultural productionAgricultural incomeLand useTerritorial metabolismBioeconomyCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIAS::AGRONOMIA::EXTENSAO RURALMetabolismo territorial bioeconômico: transformações no sistema de produção pecuário em áreas de proteção ambiental para uso sustentável.Bioeconomic territorial metabolism: transformations in the livestock production system in environmental protection areas for sustainable use.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisViana, João Garibaldi Almeidahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/5068257862720105Silveira, Vicente Celestino PiresDorr, Andrea CristinaQuadros, Fernando Luiz Ferreira deBorges, João Augusto RossiBonaudo, Thierry Christophehttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8990849756427408Rhoden, Angélica Cristina50010060000760060060060060060060060043ccd126-4139-41fa-8ee0-10bf7fb234474a8c0e58-9f44-4a0b-9324-577956d24c1db1913810-f9b7-4810-b14d-8878c140e7b2953090c4-31c3-4c63-8603-2ed5c59fd4d4108064ed-80df-4ecf-9af7-76fa38ca3c75657adad5-cc65-452c-80b9-7a8969a4a58f6687ad53-4f31-4806-b11f-068d608eec82reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMCC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
