Resumo: The arrival of a child in the family provokes a series of in the family dynamics, demanding the reorganization of roles and work, social, domestic and child care tasks. However, when a horizontal stressor such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is present in this scenario, such transformations can be intensified, especially for mothers, who are often referred to as the main caregivers in this context. Because of this, mothers of children with ASD can present high levels of burden, which points to the importance of significant social networks in this scenario, which can also be affected. Thus, this study aimed to understand the relational dynamics of significant social networks of mothers of children with ASD, based on its configuration in terms of structure, functions and multidimensionality of ties. In addition, we sought to identify the meanings attributed to the significant social network by mothers of children with ASD and how the birth of a child with ASD affected the maternal significant social networks. Therefore, a qualitative, descriptive exploratory and transversal research, based on the Grounded Theory of Data (TFD) was carried out. Twelve mothers of children diagnosed with ASD in childhood participated, with which reflective interviews were conducted and the instrument of the map of significant social networks was applied. Data analysis took place through the steps of open, focused, axial and theoretical coding, from which three categories were listed, which gave rise to three articles: 1. Configuration of significant social networks; 2. Relational dynamics of significant social networks and 3. Meanings attributed to significant social networks. The results revealed the predominance of large networks, medium density, smaller distribution than before the ASD, but greater dispersion, heterogeneity and multidimensionality. The functions were adjusted to the new reality of ASD. However, mothers do not feel the support of network members as effective, which can be understood from the consideration of the phenomena of a) maternal closure to share care and b) closure of the network to offer the necessary help. Thus, the presence of members in the network does not correspond to the quality of support they provide. In this scenario, both the social ideal of perception of maternal care as qualitatively superior and more adequate, as well as the lack of knowledge about the ASD, were identified as important factors in both closure phenomena, causing voluntary and involuntary withdrawals. Thus, the importance of democratizing access to knowledge about ASD in society and the deconstruction of stigmas related to the maternal role are emphasized. Still, the map of significant social networks is pointed out as a powerful tool to support intervention strategies in the context of health promotion, indicating the familiarization of health, education and social care professionals with the instrument, in order to be able to apply it, mapping the social network of families who receive ASD diagnosis, strengthening them and activating the ties to provide the necessary support.

Contudo, quando um estressor horizontal como o Transtorno do Espectro do Autismo (TEA) se faz presente nesse cenário, tais transformações podem ser intensificadas, em especial para as mães, que costumam ser referidas como as principais cuidadoras nesse contexto. Por conta disso, mães de filhos com TEA podem apresentar altos níveis de sobrecarga, o que aponta para a importância das redes sociais significativas nesse cenário, as quais são sendo fundamentais em momentos de crise. Assim, o presente estudo teve como objetivo compreender a dinâmica relacional das redes sociais significativas de mães de filhos com TEA, a partir da configuração destas em termos de estrutura, funções e multidimensionalidade dos vínculos. Além disso, buscou-se identificar os significados atribuídos pelas mães de filhos com TEA à sua rede social significativa e como ela foi afetada a partir do nascimento de um filho com TEA. Para tanto, realizou-se uma pesquisa de delineamento qualitativo, descritivo e exploratório e transversal, pautada na Teoria Fundamentada dos Dados. Participaram 12 mães de filhos diagnosticados com TEA na infância, com as quais foram realizadas entrevistas reflexivas e foi aplicado o instrumento do mapa de redes sociais significativas. A análise de dados se deu através das etapas de codificação aberta, focalizada, axial e teórica, a partir das quais foram elencadas três categorias, que deram origem a três artigos: 1. Configuração das redes sociais significativas; 2. Dinâmica relacional das redes socias significativas e 3. Significados atribuídos às redes sociais significativas. Os resultados revelaram a configuração de redes predominantemente amplas, com densidade média, e menor distribuição do que apresentavam antes do TEA, mas maior dispersão, heterogeneidade e multidimensionalidade. As funções foram ajustadas à nova realidade do TEA. Contudo, as mães não sentiam o apoio dos membros das redes como efetivo, o que pode ser compreendido por meio da presença de um fechamento materno para compartilhar o cuidado associado à inabilidade dos membros da rede para oferecer a ajuda necessária. Assim, identificou-se que a presença de membros na rede não corresponde à qualidade do amparo que prestam. Nesse cenário, tanto o ideal social de percepção do cuidado materno como qualitativamente superior e mais adequado, quanto o desconhecimento sobre o TEA, foram identificados enquanto fatores importantes para explicar a percepção de que o apoio da rede, embora presente, não fosse efetivo, causando afastamentos voluntários e involuntários. Assim, enfatiza-se a importância da democratização do acesso ao conhecimento sobre o TEA na sociedade e a desconstrução dos estigmas relacionados ao papel materno. Ainda, aponta-se o mapa de redes sociais significativas como ferramenta potente para subsidiar estratégias de intervenção no âmbito da promoção de saúde, indicando-se a familiarização de profissionais da saúde, educação e assistência social com o instrumento, a fim de estarem aptos a aplicá-lo, mapeando a rede de famílias que recebem o diagnóstico de TEA, fortalecendo-as e ativando os vínculos para prestação de apoio qualificado.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências Sociais e HumanasPrograma de Pós-Graduação em PsicologiaUFSMBrasilPsicologiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAutismoDistúrbios globais do desenvolvimentoRedes sociaisMãesAutismGlobal developmental disordersSocial networksMothersCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::PSICOLOGIARedes sociais significativas de mães de filhos com transtorno do espectro do autismoSignificant social networks of mothers of children with autism spectrum disorderinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisZappe, Jana Gonçalveshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8284151668279300Pereira, Caroline Rubin RossatoMenezes, Marinahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3503902533026737Colomé, Carolina Schmitt700700000001600600600600600eea4e392-c889-4ba6-8f55-6e83241b6a5f7e31df66-7285-4bd8-b273-05918df0bccfa1c25e10-4ed7-4ca2-a72a-9115e5bacba613e39c2d-1fd8-423d-9f92-1653930b9d04reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMLICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
