Resumo: Ovariohysterectomy (OVH) is the most frequently procedure in surgical routine of small animals. Surgical approaches in dogs include standard median celiotomy or endosurgery, which provides reduced tissue trauma, such as the laparoscopic-assisted technique. The purpose of this research was to compare postoperative pain, inflammation and oxidative stress in 14 healthy dogs undergoing two-port laparoscopic-assisted OVH (GV) and conventional celiotomy approach (GC), through the use of dipyrone, scopolamine and meloxicam. A review regarding inflammation and oxidative stress in laparoscopic surgery, which constitute the first chapter of this thesis was performed. The second chapter consists on the assessment of postoperative pain using the visual analogue scale, the Melbourne University pain scale and the short-form of the Glasgow composite pain scale. The assessment were realized at two, four, six, eight, 12, 24, 36, 48 and 72 hours after surgery. No animal required rescue analgesia during at any time point. Lower and shorter pain scores were observed in the animals submitted to laparoscopic-assisted surgery. The third chapter includes inflammatory and oxidative stress assessed by white blood count (CBC) and cholinesterases (acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase), catalase and lipid peroxidation measurement during 72 hours following surgery. The dogs submitted to conventional technic presented inflammatory white blood countain and punctual indication of lipid peroxidation, although animals operated by laparoscopic-assisted technic did not present these alterations. According to the results, we conclude that two-port laparoscopic-assisted OVH in bitches promote lower and shorter algic stimulus and lower surgical stress than OVH by median celiotomy approach, despite the anti-inflammatory use.

According to the results, we conclude that two-port laparoscopic-assisted OVH in bitches promote lower and shorter algic stimulus and lower surgical stress than OVH by median celiotomy approach, despite the anti-inflammatory use.A ovarioshisterectomia (OVH) é o procedimento mais realizado na rotina cirúrgica de pequenos animais e pode ser efetuada em cães por meio de celiotomia mediana ou técnicas videocirúrgicas associadas a reduzido trauma tecidual, como a técnica videoassistida. Objetivou-se comparar o processo álgico, inflamatório e de estresse oxidativo de 14 cadelas hígidas submetidas à OVH videoassistida por dois portais (GV) ou a técnica convencional (GC), medicadas com a associação de dipirona à escopolamina e meloxicam. Para tal, realizou-se revisão bibliográfica a respeito da inflamação e estresse oxidativo em videocirurgia, que se encontra no primeiro capítulo desta tese. O segundo capítulo apresenta a avaliação álgica realizada através das escalas Visual Analógica, de Melbourne e da forma simplificada da Escala de Dor Composta de Glasgow. As avaliações foram realizadas as duas, quatro, seis, oito, 12, 24, 36, 48 e às 72 horas de pós-operatório. Nenhum animal necessitou resgate analgésico durante o período de avaliação, sendo observado menor e mais curto estímulo álgico nos animais operados pela técnica videoassistida. O terceiro capítulo inclui a avaliação inflamatória e de estresse oxidativo, realizada por meio de avaliação do leucograma e mensurações de colinesterases (acetilcolinesterase e butirilcolinesterase), catalase e peroxidação lipídica durante 72h de pós-operatório. Os animais submetidos à técnica convencional apresentaram leucograma de estresse e pontual indicativo de peroxidação lipídica, enquanto que nos animais operados pela técnica videoassistida estas alterações não foram observadas. Diante dos resultados, pode-se concluir que a técnica de OVH videoassistida com dois portais em caninos promove menor e mais curto estímulo álgico, além de menor estresse cirúrgico que a técnica convencional realizada por celiotomia mediana, mesmo com uso de anti-inflamatório.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências RuraisPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Medicina VeterináriaUFSMBrasilMedicina VeterináriaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessVideocirurgiaAnti-inflamatórioDorInflamaçãoEspécies reativasVideo surgeryAnti-inflammatoryPainInflammationFree radicalCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIAS::MEDICINA VETERINARIAOvário-histerectomia videoassistida ou convencional: análise álgica, inflamatória e de estresse oxidativoTwo-port laparoscopic-assisted ovariohysterectomy in dogs: assessment of postoperative pain, inflammation and oxidative stressinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisBrun, Maurício Velosohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3913050752928325Beck, Carlos Afonso de Castrohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9258606189481470Silva, Marco Augusto Giannoccaro dahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/2382471864448850Leal, Marta Lizandra do Rêgohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/6859797230596402Soares, André Vasconceloshttp://lattes.cnpq.br/1413221301096456http://lattes.cnpq.br/5794392811858985Dalmolin, Fabíola500500000007600966f7523-221f-4315-85e4-1c78cbaa51aef456bb09-0d81-466a-9be8-a37a51623d467bb35a5a-80f4-47f6-b271-718b1e580f66fe8c9159-f4fa-4710-834f-354f10c622cd68ac6925-4cbd-4d8b-9bf4-f271df9604cc74691aad-d2ba-4728-81c2-e483156a059breponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMCC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
