Resumo: | This thesis aims to comprehend meanings attributed by psychologists to the psychosocial attention proposed to families in situation of family violence in CREAS (Specialized Social Assistance Reference Centers). For this purpose, there were performed semi-structured interviews with 12 psychologists who work at those Centers, in 7 cities across the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The analysis of the interviews was conducted by the usage of thematic content analysis. As for the results, there was emphasized that psychologists have initiated their work in CREAS having few knowledge about it or about the Social Assistance Public Policies, developing abilities and knowledge based on their professional practice. Besides that, it was perceived that professionals were in constant search for new practices, such as the work with other professionals, home visits, work with groups and families, contact with other services, etc. Nevertheless, the identity of psychologists who work in those centers demonstrate the necessity of being enhanced. Besides that, the work in CREAS might demand constant decision making, bearing in mind that the subjectivity of psychologists, other services and families may affect it directly. What is conceived as family, and how they understand as the State’s responsibility of providing family social wellness, might imply on their work. There was seen that the norms and laws that could offer direction for the work are, at times, conflicting, leading to different interpretations regarding their work and the way it must be developed. Towards this, there is comprehended that the availability of meetings among psychologists from different CREAS, in order to share experiences, could help on the consolidation of their professional identity. Also, throughout the process of continuing education, by promoting the exchange with different professionals and their subjectivities, there would be the possibility of acknowledging and managing differences, enabling the creation of new knowledge that might transcend the individual comprehension. |
